The graphic is from Chapter 11 of the FAA's Airplane Flying Handbook, Transition To Complex Airplanes. The chapter fills in some of those items - like teaching about the landing gear and constant speed prop as systems -  and is a pretty good guide. I've used my adaption of it a number of times. For the Mooney in particular, I'd also look at the MAPA guide for items specific to the Mooney model to fill in some of the detail. And, perhaps obviously, whether it takes one hour or 10 depends on such things as the pilot's prior experience and insurance requirements.

One thing I like to do which the chapter doesn't mention is include a cross country. It does not have to be long. The primary goal is to simply get the pilot to another runway environment, but it needs to be long enough to assess cockpit procedures, checklist use (not just pre-takeoff) and, most importantly , throw in a diversion scenario .  Diversions are a great time for a pilot, especially a newly-transitioning pilot - to be distracted enough to forget the gear. I also add  a final checkout flight for "graduation."

I found the one I put together back in 2001 when I was doing my first complex training for a friend. It is not Mooney-specific.

Lesson Plan-transition.pdf 72.08 kB · 8 downloads

These are both great sources and pretty close to what I was looking for.  I will make some modifications and make this work. Thank you both.

Add some special focus for each thing where flaps are added, or subtracted.... or just hanging out...

Trim issues, stall issues, go around issues.... Landing issues...

These are the things that are more Mooney specific than anything else...

PP thoughts only, not a CFI...

Best regards,
