vinsim15 Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 Hello, I am new to mooneyspace, I bought my m20c a little under a year ago and have loved it since. I searched through the forums and was unable to find anything on this, but have any other M20C owners (or owners with P.C. in the aircraft) found other useful ways to override this other than a rubberband? I recently got my commercial and about to start cfi training, I would like to know if there was a better way to handle this in the right seat. Thanks in advance! Quote
takair Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 Remove the button and store it in the ashtray. It comes out easily. I am assuming you have the pneumatic button vs. The electric.. 1 Quote
Yetti Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 Putting year on your profile and or in the text would be useful. Some owners can flip a switch that would operate the electric dump valve. It is kind of funny in the unusual attitudes section when the CFI say "Your plane" To just change the power setting leave your hands off the yoke and let the plane do it's thing. Then look over at the CFI with a big grin Quote
Hank Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 I just quit bothering with the button and haven't pressed it in years. The slightly higher yoke forces help me not overcontrol the plane. 35mm film canisters work well, but are getting rare. Large rubber bands from broccoli fit well, and you can use the rest of the package as fertilizer. Small woodworking pinch clamps may work. You can have a cutoff switch installed on the panel. Or just ignore it. Quote
Yooper Rocketman Posted March 10, 2019 Report Posted March 10, 2019 I always just lifted the button out of the yoke a 1/4" to 3/8" and it disabled the PC. Pushed it back into it's normal location when I wanted it working. Tom Quote
Hector Posted March 10, 2019 Report Posted March 10, 2019 I have a switch in the panel that turns the wing leveler on and off. I still have the button on the yoke to momentarily turn it off if I want to use that but when maneuvering near the airport on takeoff and landing I just throw the switch in the panel off so I don’t have to press the button. Works great. Installed by previous owner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
spectre6573 Posted March 10, 2019 Report Posted March 10, 2019 Britain has technical data that allowed for an in-line on off switch for the electric cutoff version. But if you have the vacuum only version then I can speak to it. I have rebuilt my entire system and know the electric pretty good. The switch in the yoke is just a vacuum release that deactivate the system, I would imagine manual inline vacuum shut off valve would do the trick but there’s no data. Try email Britain about it. Yes I know they are trying to get back up and running but I got all my info from them in technical docs. Quote
