I flew out of New Iberia on a corp jet once with a tropical storm just off the coast.  He threaded the bands up to the top of Louisiana across to top of Texas over to Austin, back down to Houston.    One slight bump over Austin.   I was very impressed.

My Dad flew through Agnes back in 1972.  He said the eye of the storm was some of the smoothest air he'd ever encountered.
