markejackson02 Posted October 29, 2017 Report Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) The left cowl flap on my 77 J broke. The bracket that attaches to the cowling is held on by what looks like three rivets. They have pulled through the cowling. What is the best way to repair this. I don't have any rivets with heads near that size. It looks like an aluminum double on each side of the hinge would hold it but the holes are large enough it would slide around. Anyone know how this should be repair, short of buying a new cowl? Edited October 29, 2017 by markejackson02 grammar
N201MKTurbo Posted October 29, 2017 Report Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) You will have to rivet a doubler onto that piece and rivet the bracket back on. Edited October 29, 2017 by N201MKTurbo 1
bradp Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 I believe there’s a SB or something for an improved bracket. I did a doubler on one and a new bracket on the other. Lasar was the source.
