Brian Scranton Posted October 5, 2017 Author Report Posted October 5, 2017 @Cody Stallings...I am getting my prop worked on at Aero Prop at KBJC. They have a Prop Saver Program for $1600--they pull the whole thing apart, IRAN, etc...my prop hasn't been touched since 1991 except for 100 hour Eddy current inspections and me replacing the crankshaft seal a few months ago and getting schooled in safety wiring! The shop next door offered to do a dynamic balance for $450 after the prop was put back on. Should I do that? I know the prop shop will do a static balance... Thanks for your opinion! B Quote
Cody Stallings Posted October 6, 2017 Report Posted October 6, 2017 Absalutly. Dynamic Balance is a great idea. wanna try an keep everything as smooth as possible 2 Quote
Hank Posted October 6, 2017 Report Posted October 6, 2017 @Brian Scranton My 3 blade Hartzell was balanced at install in '03. Had it checked at annual this year, it read 0.1 ips. So the IA left it alone, charged $50 for the setup and test. I have no idea what a full dynamic balance costs . . . Quote
Brian Scranton Posted October 6, 2017 Author Report Posted October 6, 2017 @Cody Stallings...thanks man. If they have the time, they will do it. Seems worth the $450. Quote
