steelerp Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Posted May 8, 2011 Hey guys....yeah, I spent part of the morning yesterday just sitting in the airplane amazed how it transformed it. And you are correct about the smell. I feel like it just came off the line from the factory. THIS is the airplane I always dreamed of owning! Rick Quote
Steve Dawson Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 What a great job. How long did you have to wait to be in the que? I just bought a 201 and want to do something similar as yours but I live in Ontario and would like to cut down on the travel costs. Quote
smitty9006 Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 It's beautiful Rick. I can't think of anything I would have done differently. Nice job, Dan Quote
steelerp Posted May 9, 2011 Author Report Posted May 9, 2011 Fastbyk - it was 3 weeks from the time I dropped it off till I picked it up. However; a lot of shops (Lasar and Midwest Mooney to name two) work with Aero Comfort by removing the interior remotely...packing it up and sending it to San Antonio....they do their magic and then send it back. Talk to Dan at Lasar. He can tell you how that works. Smitty9006...thanks much. No regrets here! Quote

fantom Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Hector, Jacob, and the Aero-Comfort folks got me out in under 8 days, even if they had to work through the last night so I could fly home on Saturday, through the terrible Florida weather ( a subject for another time). The professionalism, integrity, superb product, and quality customer service....all at a fair price, that they provide should be a lesson for ALL small businesses. Even in these tough times Hector and Aero-Comfort has lots of business for what is essentially a "nice to have" only product. I was next in line right after Rick, and his beautiful interior. I've posted some pictures in my gallery...which for some unknown to me reason, are all rotated 90 degrees. Well done & thanks to Aero-Comfort!!! Quote

jelswick Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Beautiful aircraft Gary. Looks like they did a great job and very nice for people to let others know when they have a great experience like that with a business. Sounds like that is common feedback for Aero Comfort. I'm not near needing a new interior, but based on all of the great reviews, when i do, that place would be first on my list. Enjoy! Quote

flyboy0681 Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 And some of us do. Tell you what, come up and I'll treat you to a trip to Sebring or Okeechobee for lunch. You can buy the meal and I'll let you play with all the buttons. Quote
fantom Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 That's a deal, and Sebring works. Can't do it untill the weekend of June 11th however, so we could do the Mooney luncheon fly-in to Ormond Beach, KOMN, and you could do the entire flight under the hood. Yes, I'll buy lunch. Quote

steelerp Posted May 18, 2011 Author Report Posted May 18, 2011 Gary...pics look great! Aero-Comfort will be in business a very long time. The quality of the product, the service, attention to detail. They go out of their way to make sure what they put out the door is second to none. Best money I've spent on an airplane. Rick Quote
flyboy0681 Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Gary- I put the luncheon on the schedule for the 11th. I'll contact you as the day gets closer. I'm looking forward to it. Quote
flyguy241 Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 For the guys that have had Aero Comfort install an interior and have posted pictures, could you tell me which package you had installed. I requested a price list from Aero Comfort and they came back with three options: Economy, Standard and Executive. Just wondering what you chose. They all look gorgeous! Quote
fantom Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Mine was a custom Executive.....gotta decide exactly what you want. Quote

steelerp Posted May 19, 2011 Author Report Posted May 19, 2011 I never really picked a package. Just met with Hector and said I want this, this and this.....how much? I can't think of anything they offer that I did not get. They did not say "it's $$$ for this leather and $$$$$ for this leather". My wife and I flew over for the second meeting, took 30 mins to select the colors.....done. Hector takes very good notes so that the job is done to the spec you are looking for. Rick Quote
DaV8or Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 When they wrap the side panels in leather and add so many other features to your interior, do they redo the weight and balance? Do you loose much useful load? Quote
steelerp Posted May 19, 2011 Author Report Posted May 19, 2011 Only the seats are leather. Everything else is either painted or wrapped in ultra-leather (vinyl). I did not get an updated weight-n-balance as part of the deal. You'd have to ask Hector why that is not part of it. Having said that, I can tell you that the amount of paperwork you get with the deal is unreal. Everything they put in goes through a burn test. Material maker, type, color, etc is included in it all. One other thing I just remembered. Leather is too heavy to wrap the plastic in. It would eventually sag. Rick Quote
