mooniac58 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Hey all, Today (March 17) I made a bunch of little improvements that some people might have noticed. Namely: The home page has been updated to now show recent photo uploads to the member galleries. The photo galleries page will now default in the inner area to show the last 50 photos uploaded by our members The photo gallieries list will now use a red icon to show you which galleries have recent uploads (10 days or less) The user profiles will now show recent photo additions by the user being viewed The forum topic pages now will properly break into pages - before they were all in one giant list. The amount of topics/posts you see per page can be adjusted in your My Profile settings page (re-login required to see changes) The member list page will now break into pages of 50 users per page. This too was getting awful lengthy with our rapidly growing community of Mooniacs! Other minor cosmetic or minor data improvements What is planned for the future: Home Page News: I would like to have aviation/Mooney news on the home page. This will require myself and some site volunteers to add news items to keep it fresh. Let me know if anyone is interested in helping out with this duty. Please only apply if you feel confident that you can scour the web and find a few good news bits each week to post. Resources Section: This section will basically allow us as a community to publish and view articles useful to owners and pilots of Mooney aircraft. I plan to have these documents highly organized and searchable so that they are broken down by what years/models they apply to, etc. As with news, we will be looking for volunteer writers to publish articles online (this will be easy to use, like a giant forum post window with more editing options probably. Classifieds: I would really like to have a nice Mooney-only aircraft classified section here where registered members can list aircraft for sale (free of course). Those are the main items for now. I don't feel comfortable putting dates or timelines on this right now since I just feel bad when I don't uphold them. However, the numbers do indicate the priority. As always I welcome all feedback and bug reports! Quote

mooniac58 Posted April 28, 2009 Author Report Posted April 28, 2009 Thanks Sorry for the lack of improvements - but I am working on my IFR rating which is occupying all my free time. Once I nail this down I should be back to adding new goodies to the site! Quote

N207LS Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Alun, Earning an instrument rating is a huge accomplishment. Many people start it, but most don't ever finish. GREAT JOB! You will be amazed at how much more you are able to fly now, as well as how much more comfortable you will be in your Mooney. Congratulations and use the instrument ticket wisely! It will benefit you for years to come. Aaron Quote
fantom Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Well done....it's your ticket to really learn piloting skills. Quote
alun Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 thanks guys. that's most kind! its great looking out the window at the weather we're getting at the moment and knowing that i'm still legal and good to go! definately worth doing. Quote
Seth Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 I passed my IFR over the weekend and flew from DC to Pittsburgh yesterday. It was really cool landing at KPIT. I had about .8 actual, a weather diversion, and the ILS approach (I broke out with about 2000 feet AGL - not too hairy). But, it was the first time I flew IMC (or IFR for that matter) solo, and after landing, I must admit, it felt pretty cool. I had a business meeting this morning about a mile from KPIT, otherwise, I wouldn't have flown into the class B (it was neat landing between a Dash - 8 and a 757. I didn't have a problem with Wake Turbulence, but did think about it. Quote
RobertoTohme Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Congratulations on your IFR ticket and your first actual IMC encounter, Seth. Keep the blue side up! Quote
Brooks Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 congratulations to all you guys who have achieved your IFR ticket. now you can really use and enjoy the airspace system and benefit from all that it has to offer! Have fun!!! Quote
Seth Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Passed my IFR checkride and have now flown halway accross the US (including DC, Pittsburch, Ft. Wayne Indiana, Chicago, St. Paul, Oshkosh - it's been quite a blast. Commerical is next. It did eat a lot of time, but well worth it, passed Saturday, July 18th, in Easton, MD. Quote

FloridaMan Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 Any chance you could have hyperlinks have a target outside of the current frame? Most forum sites do this and I keep accidentally closing the thread when I close the linked content. Quote
danb35 Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 Antares, hyperlinks can have a target as a new window--the poster just has to specify that when inserting the link. But you're right, most other forums (1) automatically recognize the link, and (2) target it to a new window, without any direct user intervention. Quote
