My Mooney came with a panel blank to replace the shotgun panel with a traditional six pack. I also have a leftover panel blank from my RV-9A to chop up for the right side. I think a CGR-30p would free up enough space on the right to panel mount and iPad mini. Here is a photo of what I have now and my proposed reconfiguration. Thoughts or suggestions? How difficult might this be? (I previously built a dual g3X setup in my RV)

Still mulling over what to do with the center stack. (For ads-b compliance). Just hate sinking a ton of money into a C. Although only 3500 TT and 275 SMOH if anyone's interested.....

This was the panel in my C. The left side was great, but the right was a bit messy. I'd always intended to move the GEM engine monitor from the right side to the left where the timer was.

That looks like a really nice C that one could enjoy for a long time  - I hope you do keep upgrading avionics even though the economics are rarely in ones favor.

I closely examined both EDM900 and CGR-30p when redoing the panel in mine.  I went the EDM900 simply because it could handle all the primary functions simultaneously in one instrument plus fuel flow, full engine monitor etc.  - there's enough room for it above your CDI if you move it to the bottom row (my panel has a blank space there now for future needs).   With CGR-30p, I would have had to get separate fuel gauges to fully replace the 6 gauge cluster - it just can't do every required primary function at once.

Looks like you already have an engine monitor and fuel flow though- not sure how that factors into your upgrade plans.

BTW - I replaced my old KT76 with the Bendix KT74 for ADS-b out. With trade, it was 2300 for plug and play compatibility.  It needs a WAAS GPS source for ads-b though, which you lack at the moment.

Looks like you already have a GNS-430 ... if it is WAAS, a KT-74 transponder or Garmin equivalent ES transponder may be all you need to comply with ADS-B OUT?
For ADS-B IN, you have several options, depending on your preferences.
(We use Foreflight and a Stratus 2. Also we installed Flightstream 210 so Foreflight can talk to the panel Garmin)

Nope, gnc300. No 430W yet. And the price tag on that upgrade is ridiculous, considering even when I had full glass in my RV I still referred mostly to foreflight....

The left panel in my Mooney retains the factory alignment with a few upgrades tossed in over the years. There's room for so much more than you have sketched if you abandon the "flat" six pack and go for the angular design shown in my Owners Manual.
