Why not just measure the tube and buy a piece of 4130 from Spruce?  It's only a couple of $ per ft

That's what I would have done, wouldn't even wasted the time to look for a donor or buy it from the factory when you can order it from a metal supplier or possibly even buy it locally

I don't think I've seen a cutaway view, quite like that on a 60's Mooney.

Looks like you have half the hard part taken care of.

Don't forget to document the repairs with extra photos.  Somebody will want to know...
