Just a blue collar Joe whom works for my money. Anyway I'm here to tell future Mooney owners about my endeavor. After searching 2 hrs a day for 5 yrs , on every Aircraft for sale site i came across my bird on EBAY of all places. There was a buy it now for $26,000 or bid.Plane was for sale on Sellers web site for $30,000. I bid $18,500 and won it. Had a local Mooney specialist do a pre buy and gave it the thumbs up.All the techs in the shop couldn't believe the condition and what i paid for it. She is bare bones with one Nav com radio and a good transponder. High time Motor but runs great . After test flight with high time airline pilot who says she's flys great and flying her myself i jumped on the sale. Hired a ferry pilot and she was flown to NH where she lives now......So future Mooney owners I'm here to tell you you don't have to be rich to own a Mooney. Just do your research and look around. Great deals are out there you just gotta find them.....Cant imagine flying any other plane ..... Well,, thanks for the up date and info, but,,, now you gotta post more pics and details about Plane Jane... I spent some time this morning rereading all your posts and the 2 long threads they were in, the short ones too... Your story can give the rest of us budget needing dreamers that it is possible to get your foot in the door and on the peddles in the left seat of a pretty awesome airplane.. Again I say, congratulations and I cross my fingers for trouble free and squawk free annuals!! 3 Quote
Andy95W Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 Congratulations, but if you don't post pictures on MooneySpace, we won't believe it happened! Quote
Patto Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 I bought my M20C last month, also on eBay! I looked everywhere trying to find an IFR airplane that I could afford that was not a snail. The more I looked at the Mooney, I began to get really excited about the possibilities of owning one of these. I also could not find many four seat aircraft that could carry full tanks, two adults, and two kids. Useful load on mine is 1005 lbs, so we all fit with some wiggle room to spare. I ended up bidding up to $35,200 and won the auction. Mine had a lower time engine (274 SMOH) but not much for avionics. I did a pre-purchase inspection, but unfortunately it did not catch very many of the issues that I have found now that I have flown it about 20 hours. But, that's airplane ownership. They can only find so much in a one day inspection. Anyway, congratulations. I look forward to hearing more about your airplane! 1 Quote

Yetti Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Nice plane. I don't know why more people that are needing to get rid of their planes don't just ebay them. It beats letting them rot on the ramp. When you get a chance you may want to upgrade your tie downs. The combined load rating you have there is 1500lbs your wings can generate about 2700 lbs lift. I use those straps for temp tie down when traveling, but if it gets windy..... Quote

I just got and installed the " Lasar " tie downs . They also have the jack points built in Quote
Yetti Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Ah sorry for the confusion. I was talking about the cargo straps you are using to tie down the plane. They are only rated for about 500lbs each. 1 Quote
