PIREP on porter-strait instruments?

Just wondered if anyone had used them. Autopilots central sent me their way so I have already sent our AI to them. Just curious since I don't see a lot about them on the web, they've been around a long time.

I used them earlier this year to inspect and repair as necessary a KG102A remote gyro. They replaced a defective capacitor and recalibrated the optical switch. The cost was $320 plus shipping - very reasonable and excellent work. I talked with Jerry and he was very knowledgable.

our AI is done, 795+shipping for the overhaul. Took just about a week even with the holiday. Nice folks, I'll use them again unless something crazy comes up once the AI arrives.

LOOKS pretty straightforward. Though nothing ever is with our plane!

The tech notes were sticky vanes and bearings and unstable attitude, so it was definitely due. Truthfully, we should have had it done 6 months ago when it was noted to be slow to erect but decided as a group not to for reasons I can't recall.
