Shadrach Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 That is painful for me to view. What did the wing look like before the tin snips... Quote
carusoam Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 The deep scratch on the top of the wing through the paint and deep into the aluminum is probably a hint, Ross. Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

capthaak Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Is there a source for refurbishing these? One of mine is quite cloudy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

carusoam Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Buy the indicator replacement. Available from the MSC network... The polystyrene lens is sensitive to UV light over time... They are held in place with silicone. They are connected to the float using a magnet. The type of system that the OP is selling is quite nice, if you don't have one already. Best regards, -a- Quote
ArtVandelay Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 I notice 2 different dials, I assume one is for J and 32 tanks and other is for smaller vintage tanks. Quote

carusoam Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 Like the headlight refinishing stuff. Nice idea, Lance. Best regards, -a- Quote
n824jl Posted January 24, 2016 Author Report Posted January 24, 2016 Just to clarify, the scratch does not go deep into the aluminum and easily remedied with scotch brite. I should have removed the paint before photos, as the scratched paint isn't pretty. The panels were from a non-fatal, but rough off airport landing. The lens showing 25 gal are used with 64 gal capy. tanks. The lens showing 30 gal are used with 78 gal capy. tanks. I will be selling the unused lens after the panels are sold. Quote
M20F-1968 Posted January 26, 2016 Report Posted January 26, 2016 I do not need the floats at this time (but might purchase at the right price). I would like to purchase the two dials with the 0 - 25 marking (I have an F with 32 gallons per side). Please contact me at john.breda@gmail.com or my cell at (617) 877-0025. Thanks, John Breda Quote
FloridaMan Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 I have these in my 67F. They are excellent and are good for peace of mind in flight. They tend to read spot-on when on the ground, a couple gallons low in cruise and read zero when you're under 10 gallons in cruise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
ArtVandelay Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 After a heavy rain, one of mine has water in the indicator, is there a way to take off the face so I can dry it out? Quote
