Hi everyone,

I was approved for a large aircraft loan (around $100k) and know for sure that I want to be flying a Mooney. I thought I would check with anyone that lives in Central Texas first to see if anyone that currently owns a Mooney would be interested in allowing a partner to come in. I can do a substantial buy in with cash on hand, and would frankly prefer to do that vs. financing. I can also join in on a note too.

I'm realizing the 100 hours I've put on in the last six months is screwing me real hard in rental fee's at $150 / hr

Airports that work for me: KAUS, KGTU, KEDC, 3R9 and 88R

Thanks everyone :)

I'm at 3r9 with a modded F that I'm either going to have to shoot in the head and buy a new plane  or paint and overhaul. I haven't decided yet. I fly for work and a weekend flyer would make the best match.

Pm me and we'll chat, it is fun to gossip about the possibilities.

Welcome aboard Tyson.

There are a few versions of Mooneys. Do you have a preference?

Are you working on or intend to work on your instrument rating?

How do you intend to use your Mooney?  (Long trips for two over mountains, or short trips to the Gulf with the family)

It may help to have these in mind if two different Mooneys become available.  100 amu and a partner can purchase a lot of airplane.

Briefly, there are three fuselage lengths from short to long body. There are three types of engine aspiration from Normal to turbocharged. There are IR panels that start with Barely IR and run up to full color digital screens. Engines range from 180hp to 310 fire breathing turbo normalized hp for cruising in the flight levels.

You have come to the right place,

@carusoam I would be happy in any Mooney. I'm a single guy in my twenties, so dual purpose for taking my brother fishing or taking myself and coworkers up to Telluride. I do plan on getting my instrument, and would need an IFR aircraft. I'm looking to book a lot of hours, ~ 100+ / year, so I feel I would be a very beneficial partner to someone who doesn't take their plane out much as I would contribute alot to maintenance fund.

@LANCECASPER I've actually already talked to the nice gentleman that owns that plane, but San Marcos is just too out of the way for me. Discussing possibly moving it up to KAUS, but I'll probably have to eat the cost on that one!

@garytex 3R9 is my favorite little airport! I sent you a note. Let's get that baby back alive and pumping good as new. Sounds like a fun project.

Older thread but just in case.....We did entetain the partner idea when we first acquired it but due to flying so much (190 hours in last 12 months) N231DH did not work out for partnership and was far cheaper to own than i imagined. Furthermore will be going up for sale soon as we went under contract on a CE421 and it will be out of annual end of the month (assuming all goes well).... Happy to show you the plane though if any interest, hangared at KHYI. Once the 421 is here will be getting rid of 1DH pretty quickly. Great plane with lot of redundancy and recent Don Maxwell annual. Not one item deferred, have all receipts for work done with clean logs. PM me for cell #
