PTK Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 I know it's possible to filter out prop shadow from pics. But how? Is there an app? Quote
ArtVandelay Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 you have to slow the shutter speed I think, normal camera you would use a filter, try searching app store for shutter speed. Quote

Hank Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 There are several threads on here for doing this. It's a filter to put over the lens; buy one for big bucks, or take the detailed CD instructions and make your own. Once the venetian blind prop is in your picture, you won't be filtering it out, unless you are very good with Photoshop. My Sony camera doesn't do this; my cell phone does. Irritating! Quote

Raptor05121 Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 You need a neutral density filter (aka prop filter). The CMOS chip is too slow to register the stroboscopic effect of sunlight through the blades. Quote
Shadrach Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 If we're talking about GoPro check out the link. I was quite happy with the fit and finish. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vivitar-52mm-Filter-Adapter-for-GoPro-HERO3-HERO3-HERO4-Action-Camera-3-3-4-/201332004058?hash=item2ee05294da Quote
DrBill Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 I use an adjustable filter from Amazon with my Go-Pro to eliminate the prop. Works great. BILL Quote
midlifeflyer Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 Has anyone noticed a degradation of color when using one of these? I find using a filter strong enough to eliminate, as opposed to slightly blur, the prop gives a magenta/grayish cast to the video. (I'm assuming Green Bay is just grey ) Quote
