Piloto Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 At least it's mission lasted longer than that of NCC 1701. José 2
AndyFromCB Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 It would not have happened with an AOA sensor. 1
flyboy0681 Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 If Fox News reported it then it must be true. 1
mike_elliott Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 NTSB rules pilot error as a contributing factor. no flight plan filed 2
DaV8or Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 Any landing you can walk away from is... On a serious note- Good job Messenger! Another NASA project that wildly exceeded it's mission's expectations. 1
1964-M20E Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 Maybe it was the certified electronics from the 1960s the only ones the FAA would approve or maybe the pilot failed his 3rd class physical?
MyNameIsNobody Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 What a concept: At the end of your useable lifespan where you are finished contributing to your creator you simply auger in without harming anything of value. Quick, painless. It's a beautiful thing. We should all lead such a productive "life" in the service of others. That is going out with a "bang", not a whimper. 1

Quick, painless. It's a beautiful thing. We should all lead such a productive "life" in the service of others. That is going out with a "bang", not a whimper. That's my plan. Hope to live a long, long time but if in the end my exit is sudden, it would be much preferred to most deaths I've witnesses over the years... 2
jkhirsch Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 Wasn't Brian Williams reporting live from the scene of the crash? 3
ryoder Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 Hillary was there as well and narrowly escaped the impact blast.
cliffy Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 It was in reality built by the lowest bidder however.
N9405V Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 Damn it! When will pilots quite taking off without enough fuel to complete their flight?
