N601RX Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Today was probably the nicest day we have had this year, so I took the Mooney up for a while. Usually there is 1or 2 planes flying at our airport on a Saturday. Today there was 10. Once I got up in the air I realized it was busy everywhere. It was the most radio traffic I have heard in a long time. Perhaps the cheaper fuel helped also. Quote
Andy95W Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Same up here in southern Michigan! Calm winds and 37°! Did some take-offs and landings with a friend in his C-150. Great day all around. Quote
yvesg Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Still freezing our butts out here... no flying for me, annual time. I prefer to have the bird checked when the weather is shi...ty like this. Yves Quote
Wakeup Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 It was a beautifully day in VA as well. I was on the ground watching everyone fly wishing I was up there. Hope everyone had a great flight that could get out. Troy Quote
Openwheeler3 Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Same in Enterprise, Al. Two or three planes in the pattern all day. Saw six take off in 5 minutes as well... And a constant line at the gas pump! Quote

And a constant line at the gas pump! I'm at 14j just west of enterprise. It sounded very busy over there. What is gas prices over there? We are at $3.74 now. Quote
Openwheeler3 Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Wow! Still $4.27 here. May have to stop by and fill up at your place! Quote
carusoam Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Was it the warm, the lower fuel costs, or both! 40°F in NJ today. Best regards, -a- Quote
Hank Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Should be near 70° tomorrow. If only my muffler had arrived last week . . . . Quote
Ratherbflying Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 It was an awesome day to fly in southern OH and IN. I completed my BFR, IPC, and the required 2 hour day dual cross country required for the Commercial cert, all in the club C182RG. My CFI and I stopped in French Lick, IN and did the ground portion over lunch at one of the restaurants there. Heading back east, we got 195-200 knot ground speeds at 5500 feet. I'm still glowing. Seth Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Went up yesterday in Tim's Bonanza as a safety pilot for under the hood IFR building time - Tim's going to get his IFR rating soon. Wanted to go up today but instead worked on the future nursery. I am itching to get up in my Mooney! -Seth Quote

They have a way of sucking your energy dry. 1 Quote
