Houman
Hi, I'm finalizing my search on for a provider/installer for the complete redo of my M20K interior, including sidewalls, headliner, seats and carpet. I sent an email to Mooney corp asking if they would recommend a supplier, to my great surprise, they told me they produce a complete interrior kit for vintage models. It will look very much like a 2005 ovation interior, so should be good enough. I'm getting a quote from them now. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with buying the Mooney corp produced interior to refurbish their aircraft. Thanks !

Can you ask if they do other models?

Your plane was the "Model" for my project just finished. 2nd the vote of confidence for Airtex - they sent me materials and I did work myself, very pleased with the price/quality. Houman
I'm looking seriously at Airtex, but my understanding is that they only do carpeting, not plastic or leather, is that so ? I would be immensely thankful if I can get close pictures of what your interior looks like and an idea of how much it costed, materiel and labor, although laber will probably be done by a local installler. Thanks so much !!!
ryoder
Airtex will sell you the leather and foam to redo your seats yourself. They also have carpet and side panels for diy installers. They don't have plastic pieces, that is the other site.

Av8
Just finishing a project - used Airtex for carpet, leather. Happy to share experience. Lots of work to get the metal clean, prepped. Installing "seat covers"/Foam took patience more than skill My plane did not have headrests - they sent soft parts, instructions to fab headrest frames - used gromet tool to put "finishing touch" on holes in leather, turned out great. Carpet required minor trimming but overall very well templated out Owner & Staff at Airtex very helpful Link to more photos & vidoe than you probably want to see: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i6xydhgmm21ovd2/AAD3bSyZmzGTpJnPN5cDxkkWa?dl=0
jetdriven
Your airplane interior and condition is similar to mine. Your aileron gust lock is exactly the same, color and all. Those overhead vents take a beating. The cowl forward upper behind the ring we had to totally cut away and rebuild. Actually the entire rear edge and the lower cowl ring too. FBCK
I believe and I could be wrong with the ident, but I think jeev here on the forum had purchased a 201 from salvage that had a new Mooney interior in it. He completely refurbished his 201 with it. I think there are pictures in the galaxy. I would be very interested in hereing what you find at Mooney. mike_elliott
Bruce Jaeger can supply nice new side panels for about 2500 for all of them, firewall to luggage area, but the window surrounds would need replacing or reconditioning. I redid my previous F's with this and it turned out very nice. It took about 16 hours to do, counting reconditioning the window surrounds and repainting them and the vent plastics. He also has a very nice silicone windlace replacement for the door and a nice silicone window surround accent trim piece. I didn't redo the leather seats as they were fine. 201er
When I called about it they told me they lost the templates and doing it would be contingent on finding them. Wonder if they found them yet and the price?

Wonder if they found them yet and the price? If they have indeed found them and can produce the interiors for a reasonable amount, we should have an interior rebuilding party at one of our airports. Betcha we could knock them out in a day working together. And then we can have your friend over here (the detailer guy) do the final detailing for us. Danb
In regard to airtex supplying materials, they did the complete job of my interior, I merely dropped off my plane and picked it up 3 weeks later, very professional, attention to detail reasonably priced. My interior by airtex exceeded the interior by Mooney by leaps and bounds.
