SB,

What were the MP and RPM settings you were using at those altitudes?

Did your Shadin collect the total fuel used data? (Memory challenge, good to add to the new checklist)

The fuel used should match your receipts pretty closely...

Best regards,

@ 10,500 you were at a pretty low power setting so I would not think the fuel burn is unreasonable (you were averaging only 117 kts on the 1st leg an 106 on the 2nd if your course was direct though I suppose you might have had a headwind).

That shadlin miniflow has a accumulator function so you should reset it when you fill up and then you'll have the gal rem and gal used info. That's what you need to compare to actual used when you fill up to see if the "factor" is correct.

The shadin does collect total used and total remaining, and I did reset it but didn't note those numbers. I'm still getting used to even having such a gadget.

at 10500' I was at 2300rpm and about 20.5"MP Airspeed was reading around 125-130mph, but I had a tailwind so GPS was showing closer to 145kts most of the way. Course was not quite direct because of all the R and MOA areas. I suppose the Hobbs could also be off, but those times match reasonably close with what I remember it being.

At 2300 & 20.5 you're under 60% power (the chart for my E shows 2350&20 as 58%). Best power setting would be about 8 gph.

The acid test is to compare the gal used from the shadlin to the receipt from the pump.

That's not the same model that I have. Mine only has the little toggle at the top center for used/remaining and the enter button at the bottom. No knob or other buttons.

That configuration doesn't seem to be current:

Your log book should identify what it is and a manual ought to be available on line.

The C is always better than you'd expect.  I was shopping for an E and wishing I could afford a J.  But after 120 hours in my C I couldn't be happier with it. It's an awesome aircraft that never ceases to amaze.

Enjoy it.

Closer but no cigar. Here's what mine looks like. I've seen the logbook entries, but IIRC it just says "installed Shadin MiniFlo per installation instructions" or something like that, without any real detail. That was somewhere in the mid 80s. I have a huge pile of install and owners manuals and various paperwork that still needs to be gone through. May find something useful in there.
