Piloto Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 I switched to a new Dell Laptop with Windows 8.1 a year ago but could not get my old flight planning program to work on it. Does any one knows of a free program that can be downloaded? José Quote
ArtVandelay Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Don't know what your program does, but did you try skyvector.com? Quote
cbarry Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Duats. It's a little "old-school", but it'll get the job done. Also, if you're a member of AOPA, (not free, but just $40/yr.) they have a decent flight planning tool as well. Quote
Mark89114 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Any reason you don't want to use flightplan.com? 1 Quote
Will W Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Flightaware does it all for you, shows cost based on leg lengths, wind, and shows altitude comparison. It doesn't assume the same speed and fuel burn for all altitudes, it actually has the database that is taken from the POH of a lot of Mooneys and aircraft in general. Quote
midlifeflyer Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 What program is it, Piloto? As others said, there are so many online choices but if you want a PC-based application it would help to know what yours is. Quote
Piloto Posted January 12, 2015 Author Report Posted January 12, 2015 Thanks for the tips guys. Skyvector is the one I was able to make it work. It has maps of the whole world and rubber banding on route line. Impressive for a freebie. José Quote
