MooneyBob Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 I am about to order the CGR30P engine monitor. One of the questions on the order form is where is the fuel pressure monitored - at the fuel pump or fuel divider on my 1977 M20J with IO 360 A3B6 engine. Anybody knows? Thanks Quote
orionflt Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 Bob, I can not say for sure but i think yours should be picked up off the divider. my recommendation is to just pull the top cowl and look, it may take a few minutes but you will know the correct answer for your aircraft not what others have or have seen in the past. Thanks I'm actually at my mechanics today and I will ask. Here for that $200+ Whelen landing light that was supposed to outlive my 23 year incandescent bulb. It didn't. Barely made it 15 months. N201MKTurbo Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 The fuel pressure is monitored at the input to the RSA-5 servo. It is the output pressure of the fuel pumps. Fuel pressure that is monitored at the divider is actually showing fuel flow. 2 Quote
orionflt Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 that is what he needs to verify, if his current configuration is reading the pressure off the divider (in which case there could be FF numbers on the pressure gauge) or the fuel pressure off the servo before being regulated. IE needs the info to setup the calibration on the pressure transducer. talking with them I found that a lot of the transducers are identical with the exception of their calibration and tolerances. N201MKTurbo Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 I have never seen a Mooney with a FF gauge. They all have un-metered fuel pressure. Quote

Marauder Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 We'll be interested in a why on that LED. Ok Bob. The problem is the original relay that controls the light. The relay was factory installed and it is failing. The light is working. Next problem is to find the correct replacement relay. Apparently the relay was used for only 2 years and on those planes that had the machine gun light switch instead of the breaker switch. Anyone know where I can find a replacement for this relay?: Magnecraft W89CQX-2, Mooney number 21LL02A 1 Quote

Fuel pressure that is monitored at the divider is actually showing fuel flow. Here's what it looks like on my IO360A1A (M20E). The near side (port) line is the fuel line coming from the fuel pump to the servo. The line going to the starboard side of the engine goes to the fuel pressure sensor, in my case a transducer on the firewall. Pressure in that line should be the same as the input pressure at the servo. 1 Quote
