MooneyBob Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 I have removed my Strike Finder as it would pop the fuse every time. Where should I send it for repair? It is the Insight SF2000 model. Thanks Quote
chrisk Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Sorry for going a bit off topic here. But, how do you tell if your strike finder is working. Mine picks up my strobes, but there have been a few times I thought it would have painted Xs and it hasn't. Of course, I really prefer to avoid any convective weather. Quote

Turn it on while safely sitting on the ground with a storm or storms within range. You don't even need to start the engine. I don't know about Insight, I had to have my WX900 Stormscope sent to the mfg for repairs. It cost me $1200 (in 9/12) including the avionics shop's work time to r/r. Quote
philiplane Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Insight is the only place to send it. Typical repairs are $1000 with a two week turn around. Quote
