My wife and I took a long bike ride into the hills of Pennsylvania followed by an early Memorial Day dinner. Afterwards, I fell asleep on a deck chaise like all middle aged guys do after a meal. I was awaken by a plane flying over head. I looked up and saw it was a Mooney. I grabbed by iPad and pulled up FlightAware. Lo and behold, it was orionflt!

Did he drop water balloons on you?

That's funny Chris...we were in Boothwyn yesterday and also saw a Mooney overhead heading south! I don't know who it was but I took pause and proudly admired the machine and my soulmate of sorts flying it!

Aside from the complete elimination of privacy, technology is very cool!   :P

I remember the good ole days when a guy could mule cocaine across state lines anonymously.   :D

One thing I did notice was that FlightAware was not current when he flew over. I live on the northern edge of Delaware, just south of the PA border. The FlightAware image above shows him just entering Delaware from the southwest, when in fact he was just about to enter PA.

Hey Chris,

this just topped off a great crazy weekend. when you saw us we were on our way home from visiting my wifes brother in Richmond VA, this was our anniversary weekend so the wife and I went to Tangier island to spend Friday and Saturday at one of the bed and breakfasts on the island. Saturday night after all the boats pulled out we sat down to eat dinner, we were the only ones dining when three people who flew in from lynchburg Va walked in. I recognized one of the guys in the group but couldn't place him immediately, he was doing the same thing, only took us a minute to realize we had been stationed together at Willow Grove pa. I hadn't seen him in over 5 yrs and never would have believed i would run into him in a place like tangier island.

Tangiers was a great Trip, I will start a thread on the trip later today.

Brian, our anniversary (50!) is coming up in July and we are still looking for a good idea -- involving the Mooney. Tangier was on our radar last year but I wonder if July is the best time to visit there. I'll be interested in your report!

Bob,

Its a great little town with very little to do except relax...I had trouble with that.....we stayed 2 days and left before their memorial day service sunday, but i know they put a lot of time and effort into the planning. i am not sure what they have going on in july but i do recommend a visit.
