WIND NOISE!! I can actually see through to the outside, at the top rear corner of my F's cockpit door.

I wonder if this is common on F mdoels mine is like this as well.

I'm interested in both, but I generally avoid being in on the "beta testing" of a new product.....

Will this material fit all models, regardless of year/series?

Just curious about all those that have signed up. What is the primary reason you want these new seals?

  • Leaking water
  • Wind noise
  • Look crappy
  • Missing altogether
  • All of the above

Seems like a lot of demand, yet replacing mine isn't high on my list of things to do. Just wondering if I got lucky and have good ones, or what? I guess the fact that I hangar my plane and it rarely ever has rain touch it might be a factor.

I have to say all the above, mine leaked water and air noise, it also looked crappy because of the ton of contact cement used to attach seals over the yrs so when i redid my interior I removed the old door seal. surprisingly even with the door seal completely removed there is not a lot of additional wind noise.

I may be interested as well. Newbie on Mooneyspace and not taking delivery of my bird until next month, but with an all-original interior I foresee the factory seals being well past their prime. My plan is to redo the interior within six months and these would be nice to have on-hand.

Any idea on delivery timeframe? Will they be available from this point on or do we need to pull the trigger now to guarantee a set?

You might want to also check out Bruce Jaeger's Spatial interior. I just put this in my plane and love it.

Now you have gone off and done it... Pictures please. Also, how does the price compare to a Hector AeroComfort interior?

Bruces Interior STC deals with replacing the panels using a double lock fastener for easy in, easy out removal. It does not include the window surrounds, but he does have a nifty way to "refurbish" the old ones. Ill post some pics in a couple of weeks when Bruce and I take my plane to show it off to a prospective MSC. Pricewise, I don't know how to say it compares to hectors work, which I know includes all new leather upholstery. Mine didn't need that. Heck it didn't really need the new panels, but I wanted them :)

I want to say it will costs about 2500 for the panels and hardware needed, but that is for Bruce to say. A new, silicone windlace is part of it for the door, which makes for a nice install here. Silicone trim for the window surrounds really details out the install. Harley just did his also.

I am also interested in both seals. I'll contact geebee directly. Hopefully, i'll be up in the air this month, after dealing with an engine overhaul for about 10 months now.

I did get the engine baffling material from geebee and they are going on the engine now and look awesome.

Update. Guy called and he has the extrusion die so we should have a flying prototype seal on my sled next week.

Byron,

Can you post some pictures as soon as you have them installed? I am interested in both but I would like to see what they look like installed on yours.

My J is the same way. I replaced mine with one from Spruce last year and when i finally got it on (took a lot of trimming to get the door closed) it was never a tight seal and the adhesive didnt work well at all.
