Unfortunately, due to the winds, and some work commitments at Nellis that require me early sunday morning, I wasn't able to make Mooney Madness :(.  I'm hoping for a report on the event, though, from some of the members that did make it!

I don't want you to feel bad, but it ROCKED!  The people at Artcraft Painting are pure class and their facilities are awesome.  If anyone is thinking of getting their bird painted, you'd have to be out of your mind to get it done anywhere else.  Winds were a bit rough (for the wife), but it was the first time for her in our new plane.  The mexican food was great, but what impressed me most were the people.

Also, I won 25 gallons of gas!

The folks at Artcraft were amazingly gracious...  The catered lunch of enchiladas and chicken fajita was spectacularly good (I plan to fly my wife down to try the restaurant that supplied it!), but the bottom line was the people and the quality of paintwork they can produce.  I was very impressed, and am now on their schedule for a two week turn around during the last half of June.  Can't wait!

Much thanks to Artcraft for hosting- I feel comfortable having them paint my plane, and really enjoyed meeting them and also all the Mooney folks who were able to attend.

On top of everything else, they sent everybody home with a flat of freshpicked local strawberries.  Yum!

The planes in process were a broad mix, including an RV, a T6 Texan, a jet, a turbine Legend, a Cessna 210, etc.  The poor T6 was cooling its heels on the ramp waiting for the plane owners to decide how to handle the discovery upon stripping the paint that the old paint job (NOT Artcraft) had covered the sins of rivets that were sanded down.  $40K worth of drilling and re-riveting is a painful surprise...  One more reason to make sure you have a good paint shop!

All in all, it was a fun way to spend a Saturday.

Teressa and the gang from ArtCraft did a great job.  I am working on a video, so those that missed it, can still see some of the educational seminars.  Knute--your airplane will look great. Don't forget about Orcutt Burger!
