Bought a c150 4 yrs ago to train. I tie down 100yds from lake aero styling. Well those guys are great. You can only imagine all the Mooney's I see. My wife said "we need a faster plane" how cool is that. Started looking on line for an upgrade and ended up with a converted m20d. I knew a mooney would be a good choice for our mission since I was lucky enough to go on many ferry flights to pick up various Mooney's for service. After some issues the best thing I heard from the Lake aero guys was "you got a fast one"

Looking forward to many years of mooney fun.

You might decide you want another plane some day (although a Mooney M20D is awesome), but I would sure hang on to that wife.

Hi to all, yes we love our mooney I am still learning its quirks but I think it's one of the things that make old aircraft such living things. Still trying to sell the 150. Any one interested let me know its a real nice one. And this is no bull we get a TAS of 150 kph plus! And as a short body it's fun to fly. Now I get the fun of making it my own.

The wife is a keeper and she likes to work the Garmin.

Hello all,

I'm a newbie here too.

I fly Mooney since 1998.

My first Mooney was a '67 M20F ( D-ECED )

In April 2013 i sold the F model and a bought a '95 Ovation - N831T

I' ve a question to all the specialists here.

the cockpit lights ( instruments lights, not the lights underneath the dashboard )working Petty good if the Engine is Not running,

If I have started the engine the Instrument light go on flicker (?) and than the don't work anymore ( dimming is Not possible)

Anyone has a idea whats going wrong ?

Thanks for your answers + Greetings from Germany

I know what you mean. She likes to work the Garmin but won't take the controls. She loves the flying and if we win the lottery I'm sure she will want me to upgrade to an acclaim. For now we are really happy with our new bird. Planning lots of trips in the future.

Welcome Bonal! Lucky you living in Lakeport, or near by. I have a recommendation of where to take your Mooney for annual... ;)

I'm wondering if you are one of the two pilots that gave me a ride to and from LASAR this year?

Welcome Fritz! You'll find there are several other Europeans on Mooneyspace including some in Germany. :)

Hi Dave, the only trip we made with the owner on board was a fellow who was a navy test pilot that was stationed in southern CA and had family in Idaho all the other trips were just me and the ferry pilot. I'm based at Lampson and the LASAR guys have been servicing my 20 since I bought it last spring. He has since retired but I got to do a number of flights in some real nice models. I got to do most of the flying (right seat) while he would determine any gripes the plane may have. As a CFI he also did my instruction on the transition into the 20d. We have been really enjoying our new mooney.

Merry Christmas to all
