flyboy0681 Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 I just read in Flying Magazine that billionaire mayor Michael Bloomberg owns several aircraft, one of them an Ovation. Does anyone have more information on this?
carusoam Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 All the world's mayor/billionaires are doing the long body thing! We'll invite him to a fly in... Best regards, -a-
Glenn Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 All the world's mayor/billionaires are doing the long body thing! And why wouldn't they??? 1
WilliamR Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 He owned a gray Bravo before that. I was interested in the Bravo a few years ago. His autobiography is an intersting read. Kind of picks up where Liar's Poker leaves off.
Marauder Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 Mike (201er) -- better send him an invitation to the Mid-Atlantic Mooney Pilots Association. You know, the group with the name NJ Mooney Pilots Association but has more member from outside of NJ (including yourself, Mr. Brooklyn). 1
KSMooniac Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 I'm glad he didn't force through a regulation to limit horsepower to 200 hp... 1

You talking about that group of people that hardly show up anywhere....clouds, wind, rain, expensive fuel, the excuses are endless..... 1

Seth Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 Hey, I showed up to one in the rain to find 7 other pilots - thanks Mike for organizing the group! And not in NJ but am still fine with the name Mike decided upon. Would love to have Bloomberg fly in for lunch. -Seth
Jonathan Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 I'm just impressed that a guy who could afford anything flies a single engine piston, and the most efficient one at that.
AndyFromCB Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 I'm just impressed that a guy who could afford anything flies a single engine piston, and the most efficient one at that. He used it quite a bit too. Almost 2800 hours before he sold it. Geared it up once as well.
John Pleisse Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 Don't worry......de Blasio will have it confiscated and sales proceeds will go Bertha Lewis and New York Communities for Change. 2
aviatoreb Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 Does he keep current? What else does he have - and what else does he personally fly?
201er Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 You talking about that group of people that hardly show up anywhere....clouds, wind, rain, expensive fuel, the excuses are endless..... No, that's just Marauder. Everyone else shows up just fine.
Marauder Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 No, that's just Marauder. Everyone else shows up just fine. Hmmm... well Michael, some of us have a life outside of fly-ins. Besides, let's see, the last fly-in I attended we had a 12% show-up rate; 2 who drove, 1 based at the airport, 2 who flew together and me. You need better destinations! 1
201er Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 What we need is better members. Not a bunch of old fuddy duddies complaining about how hard it is to get a medical.
fantom Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 What we need is better members. Not a bunch of old fuddy duddies complaining about how hard it is to get a medical. A poor coach always blames his team...
bnicolette Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 WTH is a fuddy duddie? I'm happy to be an active member of the NEMP (Northeast Mooney Pilots). Hey an abbreviation you can actually sound out. Unlike NJMP.
Marauder Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 WTH is a fuddy duddie? Answer: You and me. I'm happy to be an active member of the NEMP (Northeast Mooney Pilots). Hey an abbreviation you can actually sound out. Unlike NJMP. Me too. Has a nice ring to it.
Marauder Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 What we need is better members. Not a bunch of old fuddy duddies complaining about how hard it is to get a medical. Well now you gone off and did it! You pissed off all of your members! I vote Mike off the island... Maybe I should start the Mooney Association of Fuddy Duddys.
carusoam Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 The fuddy duddy driver at the fly-in has a faster plane... Wow, I stayed quiet throughout the whole F vs J speed contest. Just sayin', -a-

Just sayin', -a- LOL! Based on the speeds J man is seeing, I think he is really flying either an H or I model. Not a J. 1
