  2. Livened the link, then went to make popcorn... prior to watching... Watch Oscar’s video... you will be smiling so hard before it’s over... Leave a cool message in YouTube when you are there... see f I can recognize everyone... Best regards, -a-
  3. No oil filter seemed to be common prior to Y2K... Oil gets changed so frequently, some people didn’t think much about it... Cutting filters open, and performing oil analysis, while looking for cam parts, and discussing diamond like coatings have become aviation’s national past time... Air filters haven’t changed much either... What looked like a step up, really wasn’t... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-
  4. My home drome decided to put the wires underground near the end of the runway... Underground utilities have been the norm around here (NJ) since somebody invented the ditch witch... Now... if they could lower the height of the buildings across the street, that would be helpful... Must have been in the 50year plan for the airport... Best regards, -a-
  5. Modena, Moderna, Madonna... Where do the Biden’s prefer to vacation, Martha’s Vineyard? Best regards, -A-
  6. The sold note is one post above Ernie’s... These things sell quickly... Best regards, -a-
  7. Picked it up in 2017... after reading about it on MS... https://mooneyspace.com/search/?q=Windy.com&quick=1 -a-
  8. Jonathan Paul for the win! Crossing the country, non-stop... Required selecting strong tail winds that are seasonal in nature... a window of only a couple of weeks... The M20E is an amazing plane... Go Mooney! Best regards, -a-
  9. Garmin ads show multiple GI275s Lots of data being displayed simultaneously... lots of dough for so many... But Garmin factions make believe the G5 and the GI275 don’t exist in the same plane... so it seems... -a-
  10. Great detailed follow-up TX! Thanks for the post. Best regards, -a-
  11. Inviting @irishpilot to stop by this thread... -a-
  12. Do we know the pilot? I was unable to get the tail number from the pic... Inviting @irishpilot to stop by this thread... Advising @mike_elliott of the M20K that made contact with power lines... on final... Plane continued on to the runway... All safe... Best regards, -a-

  14. Somewhere around here somebody was asking questions about buying one... As his new2him wasn’t up to ADSB out yet... A tough search to find that conversation... Best regards, -a-
  15. Posted earlier today... -a-
  16. Most of our instruments do a lot of breathing each time we change altitudes... Lots of dirt and other materials end up on the inside of the lens... Depending on the instrument itself there are some mechanical bits holding it in place... an possibly a seal... Taking it apart and putting it back properly can be a five minute process with the right tools and skill... Good to have an instrument shop on field for this... I have sent instruments out... they come back looking new... for not much dough... PP thoughts only, not an instrument guru... Best regards, -a-
  17. Excellent pirep, Mathias! Great details. Fantastic shared experience all! Best regards, -a-
  18. See what’s different in my pic... Looks like an inverted Func under the 0 key... So... we know the reflection is fake. What was the point of putting it there? A black box, on a black background, with a fake reflection... we’ll sell dozens of these things... Imagine the feeling a marketing guy gets after he has printed a million brochures... and the first customer says ... ‘what’s with that?’ The design engineers have made our new device functionally simple... let’s make it look bizarre and confusing... in a high tech way! Best regards, -a-
  19. I thought one was more than enough... With the benefit of hindsight... we know one was too many... Failure affect analysis... the process that designers and engineers and users of complex systems use to determine what happens when all of the known variables break down... one at a time, multiple things at a time, special cases... One accident usually gets a review of everything done so far... to find out what could possibly have been missed... Oops there goes another one... just like the last one... hmmmmmmmm..... Not only did part of the airplane fail... but the system to keep it from happening again doesn’t seem to have worked very well either... Of course, I only have information from USAToday... to go on... we know how well they get aviation stories... I could be way off track... now for the good news... several people in my family have received their first shot of vaccine... one did a drive by at the local NFL stadium in Foxboro... PP thoughts only, not a qualifications engineer... Best regards, -a-
  20. Jimmy has been known to sell the high end Kevlar tanks... He may be familiar with O2 system services as well... @jgarrison (O2 system maintenance question) see @fabio above... ^^^^ Best regards, -a-
  21. MS word of the day... Phylogeny... Way to go Brad! https://www.britannica.com/science/phylogeny Thanks for taking the time to share your experience! Best regards, -a-
  22. High vacuum... that’s how our vac pumps work... they get modulated by a regulator... See why the vac regulator isn’t working as expected... Your POH probably has a drawing of the vac system showing where all the key parts are... Review that early on... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-
  23. Amp gauge... is a volt meter, measuring V drop across a calibrated resistor called the shunt... Find the two wires going to the shunt, check their fuses... Both wires will be reading about a nominal 12v... If one isn’t, check its fuse... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-
  24. Got a pic of what you have, Brian? Best regards, -a-
  25. @GEE-BEE that is interesting... Ti tubing... Forever exhausts for a forever plane..? Got any more details for that? I have forgotten most of what I knew about Ti machining... The flex mod is a bit lower for Ti... Not sure how that could affect an exhaust system... Got any details to go with that? How that gets approval for use with the TBM? A lighter exhaust system on a Mooney could add some value... Best regards, -a-
