  1. Technically, that one works really well... Emotionally, that will sell a lot of puppies! P+J, How many puppies have you moved in total? While searching for the missing video, I found a bunch of your history! -a-
  2. You nailed it Cody! The cost of greatness... for the thin blades... Best regards, -a-
  3. Beautiful Dutch countryside! Awesome radio work! Fantastic video... Thanks for sharing it, Mark. Until next time.... (a forward thinking, nice thing to say... when we don’t know what the future brings...) Best regards, -a-

  6. if I had a dog with me at altitude... yes, I would still use the O2... with or without the dog... Its an interesting question... because one of my favorite MSers spent a lot of time researching how to supply his prized dog with O2... while simultaneously learning how to fly... In the end... I believe he adjusted the altitude he flew at instead... probably had to train his dog how/when to pull the read handle... A quick sample of discussions with the words O2 and dog in them... https://mooneyspace.com/search/?q=Dog oxygen&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_and_or=and -a-
  7. In that case... let’s invite Byron to stop by... @jetdriven. Byron has a shop where he is working lots of hours... maintaining his excellent mechanic skills... Best regards, -a-
  8. Nice pirep for aeromotor... Thanks for sharing that detail... Aeroman! Best regards, -a-
  9. @Stetson20 Somebody put Scott D on your reading list.... Here is Scott D. Discussing the Skew T chart... used for icing info. Also showing 50kt winds at Mooney altitudes... Best regards, -a-
  10. that gets us one step closer... See screen shot below... -a-
  11. In C152 training... the first flap set point didn’t have a limit... (old memory) The non-linear relationship of force, flap angle, and speed... It wouldn’t be too hard to instrument the flaps to see how much force is applied using a chart of the different variables... It would be too hard to guess... Also... The ASI white arc had steps to represent different flap settings and stall speeds... PP thoughts only, not a CFI... Best regards, -a-
  12. Preston, An easy way to post a vid... drop into YouTube... copy/share the link... Post the link here... Best regards, -a-
  13. So.... in yesterday’s news, The CEO of Brunswick Boats... owner of the Mercury brand boat motors announced...in an interview... on CNBC... They will be announcing a new style of boat engine... Hard to tell what the CEO had in mind... he is technically smart enough to understand engines... and knows he has something different... could be a significant technical leap... Mercury has some of the coolest complex cast aluminum pieces... Let me know when you see it... Best regards, -a- This is from last year... (interesting details, as if they just joined our conversation...) Launched in June, 2019, the Mercury Racing 450R writes a power prescription that combines unprecedented acceleration and top-speed potential with rugged reliability and the latest technology from Mercury Marine. The Mercury Racing 450R features a 4.6-liter V8 FourStroke powerhead boosted by an exclusive Mercury Racing supercharger to produce 450 peak propshaft horsepower and 439 ft. lb. of torque – 40 percent more torque than the previous Mercury Racing outboard benchmark – from an outboard that weighs as little as 689 pounds (313 Kg), the best power-to-weight ratio in the high-performance outboard category. The Mercury Racing 450R delivers all of its performance on readily available 89-octane (95 RON) pump fuel. “The Mercury Racing 450R set a new benchmark for outboard performance and design,” said Stuart Halley, Mercury Racing general manager. “Its inclusion as a Boating Industry Top Product acknowledges the creative talent and the engineering and manufacturing prowess of the entire staff at Mercury Racing, where we always run Wide Open.”
  14. TCs aren’t making a comeback... They were good for making a timed turn... that was best done by holding a bank and coordination... The bank angle is speed dependent... It is so much better to use the extra hole for a second or third AI... to keep the clean side up. The TC presentations on the modern displays are a dot here or a block there... not a whole display page of data... As for certified... Garmin was giving the sales speech that these things are replacing the six pack... is there a way to do that and not be certified... ? PP thoughts only, not a CFI... Best regards, -a-
  15. interesting detail regarding the location of the snubber in the F’s fuel injection system... It will change how easy it is to keep air in the snubber... The mechanical pump is the source of pressure oscillation.... Each revolution of the engine operates the pump’s plunger... Turning on the electric pump probably won’t remove the oscillation from the system... it adds pressure closer to the beginning of the fuel system... where the mechanical pump adds pressure and noise closer to the end... Our fuel handling isn’t affected by the oscillation in pressure... just the interpretation of the instrument is a challenge... It would be interesting if the electric pump had an affect on the oscillation... We might learn something about the cause of the oscillation... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a- Let’s send an invite to @M20Doc to see what he knows on the subject... (fuelP snubbers and pressure oscillations)
  16. Screamin’ Eagles are soooo cool! a great blend of light weight, and high power... It accelerates so quickly, you get pushed back into the seat... Speaking of seats... got this one fixed... This cabin is spacious! Best regards, -a-
  17. Welcome aboard bhard... Going on the posts near the end... They are discussing replacing the rectifier... The rectifier is made up of a bridge of diodes... Diodes don’t last forever... Finding failed diodes is pretty easy... replacing them probably requires a mechanic... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-
  18. Keep both eyes open when ordering the Lords... For the IO550...There are three of one type and one of the other... If you ask them why, remember to post the answer around here somewhere... https://www.lord.com/products-and-solutions/vibration-and-motion-control/aerospace-and-defense/fixed-wing/general-aviation-mounts -a-
  19. Great pirep for the mikrokit Larry! Thanks for sharing it... Best regards, -a-
  20. Mike Busch is a great resource... When it comes to Mooney operations... there was a presentation and lab that made leaning and LOP simple... look for APS. Read up on all things Savvy... you will recognize the Mike Busch centered, hands on engine monitor data handling... Let’s invite @kortopates to the thread... Great question! Ready to get back in the air? Best regards, -a-
  21. Nice work Kim! Thanks for sharing all the details. Go MS! Best regards, -a-
  22. I sent a page of the logs to a friend that has a background including Asian languages... Oddly enough... the characters in Japanese are often shared with Chinese... They had difficulty with the blur... a typical iPhone challenge... So i printed the page as clear as I could... See if I can make any headway that way... Go MS! Best regards, -a-
  23. We have the MSers that cross the Atlantic... Most go the northern route using Greenland and Iceland... One MSer, last year, came across from France, using the southern route, visiting Brazil and Central America... his write up is so good in French... that Google translate makes it a fun read... his return route followed the northern route... Some MSers need more planning than others... Best regards, -a-
  24. the logic used here... is admirable. But wait... there’s more... Elon Musk has shown us a way to build a higher quality engine so we can re-use it, often... (the Raptor, not the Tesla) The way GM did things... was less than admirable... saving the cent, instead of taking care of business with the faulty ignition switch... Cost them a ton... select owners even more... and it didn’t work so well for the CEO at the time... Products are changing... Product development is changing... What used to be impossible, is more possible today than ever before... Somebody has to do it... with conviction... How did the Porsche engine do so well in the M20L? Best regards, -a-
  25. Note for @81X above... -a-
