  1. I swapped my kma20 for a PMA8000g, have to say it's amazing. has all but one of the features of the pma 450b but was a good deal cheaper. i say it's actually missing half a feature. the positional audio in the 8000 is hardcoded for 10am and 2pm where the position is user selectable in the 450b. to be honest, now that the newness has worn off, i notice i rarely use any of the advanced features. calling approach on the cell phone is about it. Note, an audio panel install is labor intensive(expensive), it touches most everything in the plane. If you swap it you might as well upgrade a few other things at the same time.
  2. Had KSAT all to myself today. seriously, i was the only plane moving on the whole field. Tower and I had a whole conversation about how i had the International airport all to myself. They didn't even bother to switch frequencies from clearance delivery, ground or tower. sad seeing dozens of aircraft just sitting around rusting. was like a dozen a380s stuck in some corner.
  3. I was more concerned about the possibility of her infecting others.
  4. My stepdaughter caught it, thank god she was young and only had mildish symptoms. The part i found most troubling, they sent her home to self quarantine due to not having any room in the hospital.
  5. how about a Nav Flite II control head ? knob on mine is going bad
  6. I don't remember where the report is but according to a really good oil muckity muck, it may have been savvy Blackstone, it DOES NOT MATTTER which oil you use if the plane is flown regularly. they ran an analysis against all the oil samples they've tested and found no significant difference. actually it said, exxon, shell then phillips by the smallest of margins. It very clearly stated frequency of change is more important than anything else. couldn't find the original report but here's something : https://resources.savvyaviation.com//wp-content/uploads/articles_eaa/EAA_2011-02_slippery-stuff.pdf
  7. do it yourself. Not a true owner until you spill oil all down the firewall
  8. good stuff, i actually used to work for the company that makes Hoppes
  9. I have both, i run an ipad mini5 and a samsung galaxy tab s6. the versions aren't actually that far apart anymore, from what i notice, android is mostly missing the new approach/arrival/dep features. also the vertical airspace depiction. Menu navigation is better in the android version.
  10. hmm, is this why the android version of gp lags behind the apple? just sayin. even with the few missing features, still like android gp better than the apple gp

  12. my mags were coming up on 500 hrs, so i swapped 1 for the surefly just to be rid of the overhaul req. unfortunately still have to overhaul the other
  13. I was honestly trying to save all the $2.60 gas i could 8), not so much worried about speed. plus in these times, the girl needs all the flying i can give her
  14. You make me feel like a slacker, I should really keep better records. I only really noticed it starts better and goes further LOP. 25 is easy. made it from KGTU to KDWH in 9 gallons sunday, fuel flow meter read about 8.2gph the whole way
  15. someone sent it to me, i always forget to take pics. plus it's kinda hard to get outta the plane while it's still moving
  16. man nice little jog over to KGTU 17gallons@$2.60, it's almost like flying for free as compared to $4.59 i've been paying. KLBX was only $2.55 but think they are tired of seeing me there every week
  17. I have a Keurig, i'm not qualified to comment on good coffee 8(.
  18. SMH, Ignore them, if it wasn't for this distancing thing i'd drink a Bud with you. Guess i'll just have to settle for the NEWCASTLE in the fridge.
  19. I'd recommend an PSE PMA8000G, if you're gonna have it torn apart for an audio panel may as well go all the way to stereo. I absolutely love this audio panel in my M20E. The multiple bluetooth channels and the dimensional audio are amazing. I love picking up IFR clearances by just CALLING clearance delivery while i'm sitting at the end of a runway, easier than talking to them over the radio. also, i will deny it if you ever bring it up, the ability to mute everything but what you care about is invaluable. also, far as i can tell, the only diff between a pma450b and an PMA8000g is an lcd screen and price.
  20. If 200hp an Io-360 a1a. Would be about 380@2700
  21. Hmm can we start with this, little heavy prob like 400lbs but 200+ hp between 2000 and 3000 rpm unfortunately there is no way this would ever make sense to do, cry.
  22. was it 18k for just the gi275's and installation ? really want these but that just seems extreme
  23. How about this one, Anyone able to read the signature ? would love to know who signed my girl off
