  1. Exactly what I did.
  2. I was prepared to be out the 2000$ or so but it would've been better than being out the purchase price. Also having a fresh annual was nice
  3. I had an Annual done instead of a prebuy, figured a shop signing their name was worth the extra cost.
  4. YAY..... there was a report that said there is little difference in aviation oils, Might as well save money.
  5. have you checked the antennae? Mine acts similar when the antenna comes a bit loose.
  6. sounds like a good reason to install : https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/ea_08-17141.php
  7. last 3 years i've only replaced a servo boot, otherwise works great. Not sure i'd put the sys in a new plane. honestly, who knows when these new autopilots will even become avail, might be worth it. Thinking how the system works, except for a vacuum pump, seems pretty bullet proof. I wonder how difficult it would be to create a new controller for the existing system.
  8. I'm able to reproduce the issue but took switching back and forth between your examples. Unfortunately it now seems to happen for most of my airports. from the behavior, i'd guess something isn't triggering a refresh of the view/model. good thing you can just zoom in on the map and get almost the same view
  9. Working fine for me, kinda digging the new Satellite view
  10. It's an RV, can't he find the part and change it?
  11. think my annunciator may be green, can't read the letters on it anymore 8). the floor indicator is def green.
  12. Unless I'm getting a new big screen panel, can't see why i'd ever get rid of the asi, vsi and altimeter. Those are like the most reliable instruments in the panel.
  13. I'm sure they are, talked to them yesterday regarding an avionics installation
  14. I wanted this, just wouldn't fit in my panel 8(.
  15. Hard seeing how this isn't some of the worst news ever. Kinda hard to complain about a 182 though 8). how bout a cessna 400, it's mooney-ish.
  16. looking at lycomings docs, you can run 2 of these, 1 just has to have a backup battery. hmm, wonder if i can run one surefly and one of these?
  17. Second door and a Diesel engine would make it perfect. Actually how about carbon/kevlar spars and roll cages which will never corrode, can't tell you how anxious i am ever annual.
  18. yeah, i'm def feeling inadequate
  19. unless the boots are really damaged, then a bike patch kit may work, i uhmm heard. 8)
  20. just myo, Mooney should automate as much as possible, hand-built is for 1950 not 2020. Bring back the "E", absolute best model Mooney ever made, everything else is just second 8)
  21. Sounds like a great Christmas present. Stop by KDWH to show her off after she's done 8)
  22. Is the Autopilot version required, looking at it that interface seems to be for older analog autopilots not the gfc 500
  23. Our garmin watches take about an hour to go from dead to fully charged. Wish they werent so expensive I’d really like to upgrade to one with o2. Oh yea. Integration with my bicycle cadence sensors is awesome. The find my phone feature is indispensable
  24. Mainly due to better battery life, the Garmin watches have been perfect for us. We tend to get a weeks worth of usage between charges even with pretty heavy use. along with flying, we track daily workouts, sleep quality, heart rate, steps, calories, blah blah blah. I wear the D2 Charlie while my wife rocks the Fenix 5s; essentially the same watch with different software. If you don't need aviation maps, i'd recommend the Fenix due to it being a good deal cheaper. also the new one has pulse ox. The IWatches ended up in the back of the drawer after about 2 mos, having to charge daily just doesnt' work for us.
  25. Send her to school for a degree in something other than aviation, while at the same time getting her commercial as part 61.
