  1. unfortunately you can't use the gi-106a, the gs is built into the ki-214.
  2. unfortunately there aren't many, I had the same issue. there was a guy here that repaired mine : https://avionics-laf.com it's not the installer but an older gentleman. before having it repaired, I tried bennet. Neither of the units they shipped worked. eventually I just said the hell with it and added a gns480. If I had it to do all over again, i'd buy a new radio and a md200-706 and be done with it.
  3. I have an ps8000G, absolutely love it. replaced a kma20. Can't really ask for more, the thing is just awesome
  4. buy a Samsung tablet s4, or new ipad ( mini5 ) get garmin pilot/foreflight, cheaper, better screen, more durable, infinitely more useful than anything else you can buy. note if you get the ipad make sure to get the lte model ( built in gps )
  5. can't WAIT to remove that darn belly grinder.
  6. I'm thinking about putting in the g5 hsi, was wondering why people don't put the gmu 11 in the tail where the current magnetometer lives.
  7. I run GP across 2 tablets and a phone. Samsung s2 8.0, Samsung s4 10 and Samsung s10+ gdl39 3d, stratus 3i was thinking bout an ipad 5 mini to replace the older Samsung but to get a gps you have to buy the lte model which I haven't seen locally. I now use larger S4 tab to see the big picture, weather, traffic etc... smaller s2 tab for georeferenced approach plates, traffic, taxi diagrams gns 480 to command the needles. If my brittain AP worked well, i'd be all set. darn trutrak and trio
  8. If I remember correctly, the faa may be thinking of reintroducing a loran type service.
  9. hey jeev, can you do an annual in a weekend? my annual vegas trip is coming up
  10. someone call up brittain and trio, 8(
  11. can you just not install a second identical output alternator?
  12. MAN garmin is really pushing my buttons this week, now they have new less expensive gps navigators. gnx375 to replace my stratus, TEMPTING.
  13. keep it simple, just land somewhere around 80mph, hold it off till she falls out the sky. seriously hold it off and it'll squeak down the run way like no tomorrow.
  14. grrrrrr damn garmin gonna make me spend my money.
  15. I have strobes on both wingtips and the tail, how can I get a beacon removal signed off ?
  16. I want this. genious
  17. what is the negative to having the plane weighed ?
  18. The new ipad mini is way more than a rumor, unfortunately I refuse to use apple products 8( ok, non free apple products 8)
  19. second, this, make sure everything is good before becoming emotionally involved by going to "see" the plane. I'd be concerned about the lack of adsb, it's becoming something of a pain to get avionics work. Also consider annualling the plane instead of just a prebuy, yes more expensive but far cheaper than getting a bad plane
  20. there are pockets in the base and back of both front seats, does your mooney not have these ? also, there is a chart clip on the pilot side wall to hold checklist. I keep 1 extremely out of date sectional and an approach plate for my home airport, just in case. between having 2 tablets and a phone all running Garmin pilot: Samsung s8+ Samsung s2 tab 8inch, Samsung s3, also unlike apple they all have internal gps for when the gdl 393d isn't working. there is absolutely no way i'd be trying to fiddle with some paper chart If there is another option.
  21. Okay just read garmin added the M20e for certification with the gfc500, G5 looking good again 8).
  22. I'm really hoping they get this certified sooner rather than later, prefer the look of these over A G5.
  23. How about KMQJ, I seem to remember they may have had space back in december
  24. hmm, can flights like this be written off?
  25. Gladys and the commercial with everyone scrambling for the football were about the only things interesting about that game.
