  1. Install costs should be the same, so given that overhead, I agree...650
  2. That's the last resort method, flood it and do the flooded start.
  3. No, my avionics guy called them, I asked if it could use GPS like garmin, they said no.
  4. They use an airspeed switch, despite having access to GPS
  5. I don't understand the reason for the oil breather in the first place, when I remove the dip stick to check the oil level after a flight, I see water vapor, lots of it, I now if not in a hurry remove the stick and let it escape after a flight. To clarify, I know it releases pressure in the crankcase, but why do aircraft engines need this and not automobile engines?
  6. I notice it has a bit of a bulldog stance, I haven't check if both a equally canted inwards
  7. Which ever makes you happier [emoji2]
  8. It couldn't be the left side being the pilots side is a bit heavier or we tend to touch down just a little canted to the left?
  9. Call it $200 for me, $50 donated to Monneyspace. I'm at KFPR.
  10. I have a KT76A in my hanger, was working when I removed it, if you wanna go cheap route
  11. They also have history in invading privacy so ability to track people is a big plus for them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Next time it happens, pull the LEFT breaker, check your voltage, has it dropped? If it doesn't then the right alternator is still working and could be a bad indication.
  13. Did anything change on the J or was it just a paperwork change?
  14. Has it been hangared? I'll take a hangared plane in Florida over a California plane sitting outside.
  15. Many Js have been modified, my 78 has wing mounted 36s, like the later models, generally 46s are singles and 36s are used in pairs, but only way to know sure is to measure.
  16. 3 Js, 1 E, 1 Eagle I think...all hangared.
  17. I thought it you suppose to flow to Va in turbulence? Which in Mooneys is pretty slow
  18. Just to be clear, we're talking about Lycoming IO engines, TCM is completely different animal.
  19. Have you tried the slowly push mixture in method on the 2nd try? On 2nd attempt, just slowly push mixture while it turns over. Also, my mechanic recommends pushing in throttle and mixture full, then pulling back out and resetting the throttle to idle position, supposedly making starts more consistent, so far a only couple attempts seems to work for me, anybody else heard of this?
  20. Ahhh, well then if that is a generic switch like this one: http://www.aircraftspruce.eu/push-button-swtch-spdt-black-2-post.htm Then it's rated for 1 amp, a PAR 46 whelen needs 2.6 amps, so the answer would no. The risk is that pushing more amps then the switch is rated for could cause it to heat up, I would just replace the relay.
  21. You have to be pretty close to the ocean to get elevated salt levels; 100-1000 meters, I'm guessing most airports even in Florida are outside that range.
  22. I don't have a relay, on the back of the switch you will see its rating, I going to venture a guess it's like 2 or 5 amps, take the total current draw of you landing lights, if less than switch rating, then you don't need it.
  23. So if the voltage at the battery is 12.8, power up the master, radio stack, re measure the battery voltage and compare with JPI, the JPI should be same or maybe .1 volts less. If it's more than .1 check the voltage at the radio switch, both sides, this will narrow down where the bad connection is.
  24. I thought Concorde were AGMs? AGM have higher resting voltage. Voltage is ultimately effected by several factors including temperature, rest time since charge, and amount of drain. You son's car battery actually has a drain on it: clock, alarm, key receiver....assuming it was below 72F, both account for a lower readings then book. A plane battery should be idle, no load with master off unless somebody added a keep alive your clock, or you leave the cabin light on, both are hot wired If it's fully charged, the charging voltage will drop to about 13.2-13.5 This normally should happen with 30 minutes of flight. My plane has an ammeter, does OP, by pulling CBs he can verify he doesn't have a load on the system.
  25. Does anybody have trouble with the rain coming into the cabin thru the vents?
