  1. Pickling preserves the engine, might consider wing jacks to save tires and shock donuts. Buy a good battery charger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. When is the last time a F16 has been shot down in a dogfight?
  3. A few years ago ?! That's the problem, it needs to be done every two years, and done properly, not just haphazardly, since it's not paint you can't tell if you missed a spot, if you do it at annual it's pretty cheap insurance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. A little more? Do some searches, they lost a 89 million lawsuit when the NTSB report indicated there was no engine problem, with a 40 year old engine.
  5. Reset the Alt field CB, if it fixes the problem you may have a bad circuit breaker.
  6. That's the wiring diagram of the plane, not the schematic of the annunciator, I'm pretty sure OP wanted the internal schematic of resistors, capacitors, transistors.
  7. Check SI-74, it's hard to read but it's better than nothing.
  8. Last week you would have big trouble, I guess timing is everything. Hoping it holds out as I'm making the trip next week.
  9. Yes, 78 J they are standard key
  10. Trouble is the "this is what I do" don't come with what model engine their using...we need a thread just for Lycomings IO360s
  11. I've gotten some complicated taxing instructions there, there is a MSC there, they don't want you landing on the main runway, so instead of a simple 1 taxiway to main runway, you get a 5 taxiway route, lots of traffic, 2 tower frequencys but only 1 ground frequency
  12. I get squelch breaks when charging with cigarette charger, if I unplug it goes away.
  13. I had 2 IRANed after 1100 hours, was about $300 for both
  14. A middle ground ... Done by Aero Trim at KFPR for $7K Headliner was covered with leather, side panels repainted, new carpeting. Professionally done.
  15. I avoid yellow too, because here in Florida, yellow can become red in a NY minute. I try to avoid afternoons as well, I feel your pain. Having ADSB WX, strike finder helps, but eyes are best tool, that's why I hate being in IFR with storms in the forecast.
  16. My J runs near the bottom of green. My OP run below the green, JPI indicates correct pressure. Also the gauges have a small variation, rhythmic like it has s pulse. Someday I'll need to have them overhauled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. The fact some cause the radio to break squelch was also interesting, the old Parmetheus didn't have that problem, be nice to know if the new ones do.
  18. Is there anyone that just plows thru? Other than a bouncy ride, I be afraid of running into a developing thunderstorm. IMC is one thing...if convective activity is predicted I must be able to see.
  19. Similar route, I got what I submitted with no changes for whatever reason:
  20. For those with 650s, the iPad functions as a poor mans MFD, only problem is the iPad overheats and is hard to read when in direct sunlight.
  21. I have old fashion analog gauge, but it's not much unless my electric backup vacuum pump turns on, normally needle is just in the positive range. Modern avionics have low power draws. You should test pitot heat and autopilot as these are extended power draws.
  22. Garmin pilot does this, after filing it returns ATC proposed routing.
  23. That's what my taxi lights look like.
  24. Actually it's more like $5400...
