  1. That's the way I read it too and always at 75% power. IMHO, that's engine abuse.
  2. Those sporty mounts are more expensive then the devices the hold, a lot for a piece of plastic.
  3. The cards aren't but I thought the downloaded charts were encoded with the serial number of the target unit. The pilot paks make this a non issue. I like the fact no special device is required.
  4. I wish my PO took my plane there, he took it to another Florida based outfit: overspray, missed spots, runs...it's now under new management.
  5. Those are pilot paks, so if you are all in, you can update then as part of the bundle.
  6. No problem, remember mechanical devices like to be used but not abused...so go flying!
  7. My MSC didn't apparently didn't think so, they never gave me that option, maybe they thought it was required?
  8. Considering the number of AMUs you spent on your panel, that's saying something. All this talk about refurbishing or modifying old planes...they don't even make the kit for the J ram air removal anymore, let alone pilot side doors.
  9. If it's the sealed type, it may be just not make clean contact from disuse. Try pressing the button a few hundred times, like 1/sec for 10 mins. Sometimes they can self clean, you don't even need to power it on while doing this.
  10. Why did you do the overall then? Just because of TBO? Who did your overall?
  11. It's interesting that if you're a boater, all you have to do is call 1-800 number to be cleared in.
  12. I would not worry about absolute EGT temps, but the 9 gph is little too high for 8000,50F LOP, 145 TAS. What RPM are you at? By comparison (2300 rpm):
  13. Flying high us nice, but to really be useful, I would need FIKI, now I could fly high and not worry about icing up on the way down.
  14. I'm just explaining the reasoning, But if I had a factory new engine that I just paid big $ for, I would be changing my oil closer to the lower end of the recommended 25-50 hr change interval.
  15. Re: Jeff_S The reason is there is less turnover, not adding new oil diluting the suspended junk, if you go with oil separator I would change oil more often.
  16. I suspect the backside isn't painted.
  17. IIRC, there was another MSC (Dugosh?) that was considering doing exactly this, I hope it works out. For Florida residents, it would be better tax wise if buying a plane like this, to buy the plane as it was and pay for refurbishing separately, there is no tax on airplane maintenance.
  18. Tell Santa he needs to get elves working on DFC90 with Aspen certified for Mooneys.
  19. You may have to try a different USB charger, yours could be so bad that even pulling the cables, it still radiates. In my case, my Coms sit right next to the 12v outlet, another cheap option is to get a extension cable so the charger is not so close.
  20. Does it fill the same hole? What's the size compared to the 830? Did you have to replace ALL the sensors, and wiring? Does the fuel gauges use existing sensors? Does it have user defined warning levels? I assume it is hard wired, doesn't use the avionics buss? How much did the upgrade cost IYDMMA.
  21. Looks to me like there is a smudge on the lens of your camera, almost dead center, FYI
  22. Try unplugging usb charger if using one.
  23. But when a plane goes down in trees, a wing hitting could cause it to rotate and absorb the energy instead of the nose. It could be anything from medical to pilot seat slipping (I had this happen once on takeoff), unless they find something definitive in the autopsy, this may take a while.
  24. I got all sensors installed with interface to GPS, but I was upgrading from a 700, IIRC it still took 20 hours, are you talking about a virgin installation?
  25. In regards to Lycoming recommendations, not that I don't trust their engineering, but from a business perspective, they don't want their engines lasting too long, otherwise you won't have any repeat customers. So I would error on the keep it under 400 if at all possible.
