  1. Myradar app has aviation mode, gives Sigmets, Airmets, TFRs and will show your last flight if you were IFR.
  2. I had oil coming out of the rear of the belly panel back by my stormscope antenna. Turned out it migrated along the control rods and dripped off where the linkages turn upward. Since the oil was dirty and i had a recent oil change (10 hrs) I chalked it up to a messy oil change. The turbulence inside the cowl, landing gear can cause it to do travel in strange ways
  3. My Nose Dragger Dragger is perfect for a Mooney. http://dragger.com/Nose-Dragger-DRAGGER/ I use 2 12V batteries in series for their 24V model. Wow, $2000 tow, I guess I'm a CB because I'll keep doing it the old fashion way.
  4. LPV approach for runway 1 is 200'...it's good to have WAAS.
  5. Is this the first time your windshield was changed out? If not the first time, did they use cherry rivets, I heard they are time consuming to remove?
  6. 110K not bad....until I realized it was just for the engine. Why do turbines have those ugly exhausts?
  7. I use google satellite view to check out possible landing sites, sometimes there just is no good options
  8. Do they work if attached via a dimmer?
  9. See, you should bought a modern Mooney :-) My 78J has both...
  10. Other than the loose screws, they look fine [emoji1]
  11. When i look at airnav for oxygen i see : Bottle oxygen: high/low Bulk oxygen: high/low What does the high, low mean? And for refills of portable tanks, I assume i want bottled?
  12. I'm curious, what was the medical supply place excuse? I have portable as well, had it shipped filled, its now empty, I only need it filled every year or so, not really worth it to go the welding tank route. I wonder if it's easier if out west?
  13. Maybe a heart attack or something cause the death and the crash, we'll have to wait, at least the survivors can tell us.
  14. I agree,thats why I bought a GTN 650
  15. I assume that can get messy depending on how quick you swap the fittings.
  16. It should be able to handle the charging voltage 28v no problem.
  17. But you were upgrading from 830, was rebate on 830? Since the 900 is the same footprint was 830, someday if JPI has an upgrade special I might do the same.
  18. So, on a related topic, I'm going to use some approximate numbers for easy math: You take off, 90k And climbing 1000/min. At a 1000', you lose your engine, standard rate turn 180 takes 1 min, you've lost 600', pointed back towards airport you have 400' left, or 40 seconds to cover 1.5 nm, at 90 knots you end up 1/2nm short, or 20 seconds of glide time, or an extra 200'. With the absence of wind looks like you need 1200' of altitude to make the impossible turn. Do I got that right?
  19. Are hot starts easier with windmilling prop as oppose to on the ground?
  20. I used an opaque screen protector, I also use auto shades from Walmart to keep direct sunlight off it, keeps it cool as well.
  21. Reducing to 25/2500 is how i was taught, M20J POH states 26/2600 for a normal climb.
  22. Remember the winds at the surface may not be (and usually aren't) the same as at altitude. If you have to go down at night, water that shows up on your chart may be your best option. Your headrests will float in a pinch. Food for thought...
  23. You got to start sometime...you can at least do local IMC under benign conditions.
  24. Anywhere close to Bravo airspace and they want you out of the approach path, did you check the SIDs and STARs? I would check the altitudes use and pick an altitude thats 2000' above or below. Looks like they use 5000 as top altitude in all, with 3 major APs it's no wonder you get redirected.
  25. My emergency landing mechanism locked up, so when i sent it in they replaced it as part of the repair.
