carusoam Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 I'd go with the PVC pipe solution for reaching the valve. It's quicker and a lot easier than losing and maintaining 30 lbs... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
TWinter Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 The above post was trying to be encouraging. I trained in a Cessna 152 and flew about 100 hours total before getting an M20C. Mooneys go fast because they are "slippery". To stop in time, it requires a small amount of speed control. Anyone can do it. Not everyone wants to... Best regards, -a- I like the last two lines of this post. Quote
carusoam Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 T, It came from the heart. I have truelly lost 30 pounds as well... Best regards, -a- Quote
thinwing Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 I am thinking how much more junk I could load in the Bravo if I lost 30 lbs Quote
benpilot Posted May 24, 2013 Author Report Posted May 24, 2013 I am going to check out a Mooney Rocket and fly it tomorrow! Looking at Mooney Rocket, 252, TLS and Bravo. If I like it would be great since Rocket is as fast as Acclaim for lot less cash. Only downside is the Rocket sucks fuel and is not frugal on it. Quote

The Rocket will do more with less fuel than a TLS/Bravo. And anything a 252 can do using 1.5 gal more and a lot it can't. No one "slows down" to 252 speeds unless they need to to extend range but the option is there. After owning a Rocket it is hard to enjoy a J. Quote
benpilot Posted May 24, 2013 Author Report Posted May 24, 2013 Yeah I flew the rocket today and it was awesome! But the owner does not really want to sell it and tried to get me to consider a cheaper 252 instead with newer avionics. Quote
