chrisk Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Looking for a partner to go in on a Mooney. Aircraft to be based at KGTU and used recreationally. Quote
Mcstealth Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Good luck. Hope it works out. Quote
richardheitzman Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 If you base in San Antonio or Fredericksburg you might talk McStealth and I into a three way partnership. We are both on the cusp just not quite there. Quote
chrisk Posted February 13, 2013 Author Report Posted February 13, 2013 Ok, maybe I am lazy. Or maybe I just know that the closer the plane is to my house, the more I will use it. Currently, there is a partnership opportunity with a Mooney at the Austin airport. I'm so tempted, but 30 miles from my house is a lot to swallow. --Well that and fuel prices of $7 per gal. San Antonio or Fredricksburg is a non starter. Quote

You might have some luck out that way if the owner at AUS could relocate. Quote

It's a really nice airport, but hangers are $500+ per month, which is on the high side. And the choice for mechanics is very limited. Having said that, I'd be open to it. Other news. I just put a deposit on a 1979 M20K. Details provided after it goes through the pre-purchase next week. Quote
Will W Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 It's close enough to BMQ. I know a guy looking there. Cheap fuel in BMQ also. Quote
Geoff Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 Chris, Have you found a partner or bought a plane yet? I own a 1982 M20K and might be interested in talking with you about it. I have an unusual circumstance at the moment as I live in London and my aircraft is in San Antonio but would entertain a partner as my parents live in Georgetown. -Geoff Quote

So, I'll have to see how that turns out. At the moment, it is looking good for the purchase. Dougosh is not finished yet, but they have found a few of small things, which probably add up to $1500 to $2500. The original fuel flow gauge failed and was replaced with a JPI 450, but apparently that is not certified for use as a primary instrument. Spark plugs are worn and should be replaced(12 x $25). Some rub wear on the oil cooler, so it should be repaired/rebuilt. Brake rotors that are thin (but ok for now). And a loose step. Chris Quote

GregB Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 New to the boards here but I've been looking to partner on a Mooney in Georgetown as well. This thread is a little stale but if you're still looking for a partner I'm interested in the discussion. Thanks, Greg Quote
chrisk Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Posted March 28, 2013 Hi Greg, I am still looking for a partner. I'll PM you. For news on this front. Just this week I became the owner of a Mooney M20K 231. It just went through an annual at Dugosh and is having a Merlyn Waste gate installed now. I'll be picking it up next Friday. Chris New to the boards here but I've been looking to partner on a Mooney in Georgetown as well. This thread is a little stale but if you're still looking for a partner I'm interested in the discussion. Thanks, Greg Quote
jacobwall Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 I may be moving to Austin this summer and if I cannot find partners to buy out the other partners in Dallas and move the plane to Austin I am open to joining a partnership. PM me with more details please. Quote
brotographer Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Just thought I would tag along on this thread - I'm looking for a partner or two in a (to be purchased) 1986 or newer M20K 252 TSE based at 88R (first choice, inexpensive fuel/hangar) or KAUS (second choice, convenience). Would like to be in an aircraft by May, 2014. My mission is usually just me, to Houston, Durango, or southwest locations. I'm a 300+hr private pilot and want to get my instrument rating in this plane. Post or send me an email if interested - txrfid@gmail.com. cd... Quote
chrisk Posted February 21, 2014 Author Report Posted February 21, 2014 Give me a shout if a 1981 231, based at KGTU would work. Give JohnL a shout if a Rocket based at Austin Executive would work. And if your after a 201, there is a group looking for a partner at KAUS. Quote
