M20F Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 After 6hrs of flying out fighting the winds to spend one day hunting antelopes it was nice to come home today with the wind at 200kts in 3.4hrs. http://flightaware.c...1705Z/KTOR/KBUU Quote

jlunseth Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Winds have been good this fall, if blowing your way. I went to Fredrick MD (KFDK) via Peoria for a weather seminar a couple of weeks ago. 275 kts. in cruise for most of the trip from KPIA to KFDK (FL210), TAS was 165. When I got out near the east coast the winds moderated a little. Quote
carusoam Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Dang.... We suffer from photo largus. Our photos are too large to post, followed by, shrinking them, we lose the required definition... I wanted to see M20F's photos showing GPS vs. ASI.... The TNF appears to be the bargain time traveller of the Mooney World! Craig, any help with this one? Best regards, -a- Quote
M20F Posted October 9, 2012 Author Report Posted October 9, 2012 I wanted to see M20F's photos showing GPS vs. ASI.... The one's in the gallery blow up a bit better. Was getting160-165knots TAS with 75% power (about 11gph) at FL210, density altitude was something like 23000. http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/album/13665-ktor-kbuu-08oct12/ Quote
garytex Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 So where were you antelope hunting? See many PD's? I'm working on some fly & shoot places. Gary Quote
M20F Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 Hi Gary, We hunt on a ranch just outside of Lost Springs (near Lusk). Quote
KSMooniac Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 I had flights on Friday and Tuesday with sustained ground speeds of 180-190 knots for hours while burning 8.5 GPH in the 9000-11000' range. That was great.... until I headed back home anyway. Quote
