@PeterRus Concorde RG24?  I think that the STC for Mooneys for the EarthX batteries are only for 14V applications (up to mid 1987's J models?)...  I'm not exactly sure why that is?  I know that EarthX has 24V batteries for experimental...you could try emailing them if you're interested.

Does not look like earthx is available is it? What’s are options for a new battery?

Is there a reason you do not want the Concorde?  If looking at losing weight, be sure to evaluate the new CG with a lightweight battery.  The Concorde is heavy and far aft.

Concorde has the RG24-11 and RG24-15.  The -15 has a few more cranking amps, but the -11 is on sale at Chief Aircraft, $200 less than the -15. Free shipping and no sales tax. (I wouldn't sweat whether it's an "M" model which includes a manifold. I've seen about a 50/50 ratio of M to non-M installed in Mooneys.)

I was told the battery could be installed with an IA sign off.
if the STC isn’t through when I am due, I will do it this way.
I installed a prop that took almost 20# off the nose, I will have no cg issues with the lighter battery and my UL will be in the mid 900’s

I've had good service with past Concorde 24volt batteries.  The last one, installed August 2023 was just replaced last month.  It was marginal and just barely passed the last capacity check 10 months ago.  Three weeks ago it wouldn't budge the prop even though it had been on the BatteryMinder.  Concordes answer was, after looking at the battery serial number, was that they didn't see any "smoking gun".  Let's see, $900 +tax for less than 2 1/2 years.

The approved 24V Concorde batteries for the M20J are the RG24-11M (which has a manifold) and the RG24-15 (no manifold). The Concorde rep didn't know why Mooney specified it that way and said that the manifold had no real function on a sealed battery. I am using the RG24-15 (higher capacity for backup if the charging system fails) and I removed the drain tube and plugged the hole.

It also need the wires from the battery to the LED indicator provided for the Battery Management.

I did read that for the typical install, but wonder if that’s required for two batteries?

Or you can wire it to a suitable display (like g3x).

I believe it's so you notice an overheat situation in the battery soon enough, so you would need one for each battery.

I’ve got the same battery. How did you plug the hole? I’ve long wondered what the most elegant solution would be.

Thank you -- but the approved battery (according to Concorde)  is -11M, not -11: https://www.concordebattery.com/knowledge-base/application-replacement-guides/aircraft-application-guide.html

Or -15 which may have fitting issues. ;)

Lighter batter shall require CG verification/new W&B, however I would be more comfortable adding weight to offset the lighter battery:

1. I am thinking about lighter prop (MT 3 blades)

2. I am thinking about glass (remove vacuum)

Both will make it lighter CG forward.

I just measured the hole diameter and got a plastic hole plug from the hardware store.

As I mentioned, I wouldn't sweat whether it's an "M" or not. These are sealed batteries you do not need the manifold. Common sense prevails. Think about it a minute, if you really needed the manifold on the -11M why would the -15 with no manifold be approved?

On a 1997 M20K Encore that I had, when I bought it, there was an -11 (not an M) installed that was 7 years old and I replaced it with a -15 since I wanted all the cranking power I could get, due to just one battery. No fitment issues since they are the exact same size. Three pounds difference, so my A&P revised weight and balance the next time he came over.
