Other than checklist items like the mag check at run-up, and general engine roughness and performance compared to usual.

Are there any specific items to be extra alert to?

Did an OH at annual this year. First time with this item as an owner.

Is it a Bendix dual mag? Or separate mags?

It's the dual.

The dual mag operates identically to separate mags.    There is no difference in operation, runup, or performance expectations.

The reason I asked whether it was a dual mag was to suggest checking the mounting hardware to be sure that it was torqued correctly. There’s a service bulletin for the dual mag, and obviously if the dual mag comes loose the consequences are different than if a single mag comes loose :)

If you have an engine monitor and download the data, take a look what your normal CHTs were in different phases: after start, at runup, after takeoff, at cruise power.  If you have a magneto problem, especially related to timing, you'll be able to spot a difference in CHTs. At high power (takeoff) be extra vigilant for any roughness or unusual temps.

couple of fast taxis.  Come back and check for leaks.   Then circle up over the airport while checking things.

I took my plane in for my first annual and the shop said the lower mounting bracket on the dual mag was missing. Terrifying thought.

The IA did tell me the mounting flange was cracked. Yikes.

Great idea. Will do some recon with Savvy.
