@Rsmithref +1 MKC is a great airport to fly into.  No tiedown fees at City Parking over by the self serve fuel pumps.  You can call Avis MKC 816/931-1039 and they will drop off a car to Atlantic and you can walk around the corner to pick it up.  Last time I was there airports were landing south and coming from west I flew right over midfield MCI, then turned south for a straight in Rwy 19 looking right at downtown.

Suggest downtown airport. Last time there great runway and service easy access to inter state .

MCI airport is several miles from town and might be a choice if doing business NW of Kansas City. NOAA offices are there.

I just spent last weekend at KMKC and would recommend it 100% unless your ultimate destination is much closer to KMCI.  The city/transient parking is adjacent to Atlantic on the NW corner of the field with free parking and cheap SS fuel.  Atlantic and Signature have full-service/full-fee FBO amenities if you need that, of course.  I got a Lyft ride from the transient area (actually walked a short distance towards the street) to our hotel nearby and it was easy.

Many, many years ago I went to MCI to pick up a commercial passenger and it too was easy as far as big airports go.  It's not super-busy, but it will be more expensive.  The Class B is not nearly as crowded as most, although this past Sunday afternoon when I departed it was a bit busy with traffic coming in for the Chiefs game.  Every other time I've been around the area it was pretty tame.

My plane is sitting at KMKC right now. It's a great airport, easy access to downtown, Lyft and Uber work great. Easy to fly in under the Class B while VFR.

The free transient parking is good as long as you have the time/desire to use the self-service fuel. You need the fuel receipt to get in and out of the city-owned terminal building and access the ramp. You have to self-fuel upon landing or you won't have the receipt to get back in, so leave extra time on your arrival. I've heard you can call the airport manager from a gate and get buzzed in, maybe, if you don't have the code, but I've never done that.

Atlantic is very nice and accommodating next to the self-serve fuel, but they don't sell 100LL. They've let me walk through their lobby before and even arranged a rental car for me once.

If you're short on time or prefer full service fuel, Signature is the only option. Their prices are usually high but the service is good and the people are nice.
