Has anyone flown into KOWB (Owensboro, KY) lately, is Modern Jet Center FBO still operational, they don't answer calls, don't return calls and don't return emails.

That alone would make me not want to do business with a company, regardless if they were open or not.

Modern Jet is pretty much an operation just for Modern Welding, headquartered there in Owensboro.  The self-service fuel pump is on their side of the field.  Tie downs spaces are beside the pump but bring your own rope.  If you need any services, better go across the field.

Nice guys at Modern, they just operate on their schedule.  I was a frequent visitor in OWB for years.  One of their honchos and spouse is staying with us next week.

Thanks, last time I flew into OWB was about 35 years ago when stationed at Ft. Campbell, heard Moonlight BBQ is still in business so gonna fly in for some Mutton.

That’s cool- I was stationed at Fort Campbell 35 years ago.  Did one of my student cross countries to OWB.

That's a long way from central KY . . . .

Moonlite's reputation was made on mutton. Owensboro is the only place I've ever seen it offered.

If in Texas its a real good stop with a crew car at the airport
