Hey folks. Question please.

My friend has a used Stech 30 he wants to install in his F Model that has the original wing leveler.

What instruments are needed to drive a 30?

Here is a picture of his existing panel.

Thanks in advance.

It drives itself as a turn coordinator  and uses the static source directly for altitude hold I believe.  It can take a GPSS input linking to the GPS via a separate box or an Aspen PFD.

However, used STEC-30s have to be sent back to the manufacturer to be "recertified" for the STC to be valid. By the time that's done, the cost approaches a new system, so they are rarely re-used.

This scenario is F-model to F-model. It would need recertification?

I'd have to double check the STC for my STEC-30 but I believe it is registration/serial-number specific to my M20F.  So, yes, to be legal you'd have to pay for the re-certification, I'm afraid.

I believe the above comments are correct, and you cannot legally simply re-install it in a new plane.  You might call a dealer or Genesys (the current STEC owners) and see if they've changed their policy, but my opinion is Genesys wants nothing to do with legacy systems and would be happy if they just get thrown away.
