I just had my plane scaled (yep on real scales) during the last C of A in February. My mechanic made me up a nice weight and balance sheet and as a result of removing old tube radios and associated antennae, I now weigh in at 1783 pounds. My bird "The Time Machine" lost 17 pounds. I've also started using the treadmill and cutting back on the growlies, to lose additional dead weight and gain cockpit room.

How does my aircraft MT weight compare? I've got electric gear and manual flaps.

Our 1977 J with KX-170B radios, stormscope, shoulder harnesses, Concord RG35AXC battey, etc, weighs 1773 Lb.  We may have a record here, we changed it 4 times the first year, and lost 5 lbs net.

My 65C with manual gear weighed in at 1591 pounds empty in 2010.  Back in 1987 the logs say it was a more svelte 1586.

... and way more legroom and comfort for the rear pax and way more luggage space (you normally run out of space before you run out of weight) and an hour more flight time - suits me...:)
