Anybody have a Sky-Tec 149-12HT starters installed on their 1967 F?  I sometimes fly a 172 locally and it has one of the HT starters on it.  I swear I could almost taxi with just the starter turning the prop. lol

I'd like to put one on my '67 F but wondering if there is even enough space?  Any modifications required for fitment?

Any other pro/con to this starter?

I have one on my 69F.  I have also had it on other airplanes I had.  Well worth the money.  I didn’t see any mods on the baffle in on mine so it should fir fine.

Have one on mine and had good luck with it (2 in 13yrs).  The 4 long bolts that hold the unit together tend to come loose.  I just check it when I change the oil.

It is quite literally the easiest piece of hardware to work on in a 67F I almost wish it would break more versus other things.

Interesting that they're about the same price as a 149-NL, which is usually what's installed on a Mooney.   If my Sky-Tec 149-NL ever goes TU this looks like an interesting option.   Not sure of the downsides, but I suspect there are some.

Looks like it’s about $100 cheaper at QAA. In my to-do list this or next year. Still looking at the B&C too. A great alternative that’s a bit less $.

Does the B&C fit, I vaguely recall a thread where some said it would and some it wouldn’t.

I saw that same thread - but saw several folks also say no issue. I'll be sure to photo and call B&C before ordering (if I even go that route). I'm not at all scare to go with the Skytec either.
