Annual Northern California

Purchased my M20F last year. Looking for someone to perform the annual in Northern California. Any recommendations other than Top Gun?

First of all, congratulations on your new to you Mooney.  I myself have not used TopGun since my pre purchase/ annual.  BUT I highly suggest using them for a very detailed examination.  I was given a beautiful report that listed everything they could find.  Not all of these items needed addressing at the moment but things for me to keep my eyes on.  I had them address all squawks that needed immediate attention, but now a has a Christmas List generated for my wife, and myself.

I prefer to be part of the annual process to stay informed, I have used multiple different AI’s in the past (I appreciate fresh eyes).  Always good to get another’s perspective.  For the last couple of years I have used the same gentleman, why, I find him to be on the top of his game.

Randy Korte…dm me if you want his info. He is often willing to travel within reason. He’s done pre-buy inspections for me when I was out shopping from Placerville to woodland and out to paradise too. Very reasonable guy and prices.

Hangtown Aviation in Placerville.  

They’ve done a friend’s G model the last couple years.  And I saw a J there a couple years ago that had fuselage tubes replaced under the pilot’s side window.  The tubes were ugly.  They pulled the sheet metal off the fuselage to get access for a proper repair.  When they were done, you could not tell that there had been an issue.  They had an A&P there for a while, who formerly worked for LASAR when they were in Rancho Murieta… he’s moved on to teaching, but he always said good things about the company’s leadership.
