Matthew P Posted July 15 Report Posted July 15 Can anyone tell me the length of the magneto wires for the left side, aircraft isn't available and trying to get an estimate for a new harness for Surefly install? TIA matt Quote
Hank Posted July 15 Report Posted July 15 When I replaced my ignition harness, I just called Kelly Aerospace with my make and model, and thenwhole thing came put together and ready to install. Less than 100 hours in, it was falling apart, and my IA (whomhad found it at annual) noticed several others in his shop with similar problems. Kelly fixed it, but still . . . Then two years later, he had to drive to my home base and replace a bad lead . . . No idea how long it is, though. Buyer beware. I would expect SureFly to have a harness to sale, with the magneto replacement, available as a kit with the STC. Quote

I think Maggie is the go-to for a half-harness. As one poster mentions in this thread, be sure to tell them which cylinders, top and bottom plugs, your SureFly is going to. After I installed my SureFly on the left side, I decided to replace the harness for the right mag, and ended up with a right harness that was marked with the same cylinders and top/bottom plugs as the SureFly. Grrrr. Or, are you making up new leads for an Slick cap you already have? Quote
