I’m including a copy of the G3X showing Bearing Pointer 1 dialed into NAV1 on the GTN 750xi. The G3X displays the bearing pointer on the HSI and BAE in the information window, but according the the G3X Manual, below, it should also display “GPS-derived great circle distance to the bearing source,” but it does not. Why? Config setting? I’ve also tried using NAV2 with no success.Thank you. Peyton

This is one of those instances of the G3X documentation not providing a detailed level of information.

I'm headed out to my airplane today and will attempt to verify this (EDIT: I confirmed in the airplane that what follows is true), but I believe you will only get two of the data items along with the pointer icon in each bearing pointer window. Which two data items you get depends on the source you've selected. If you've selected VOR1 as the source you will get VOR1, the tuned VOR identifier (or the frequency in some cases), and the pointer icon displayed. If you select GPS and have a flight plan loaded the data window will display GPS, the next waypoint in the flight plan beyond the one you're steering to, and the bearing pointer icon. The only time you'll get the GPS derived great circle distance is when you've selected Best or Nearest Airport, in which case the pointer icon, the airport identifier, and the great circle distance to the airport are displayed in the bearing pointer data window.

This is from page 20 of the G3X Pilot Guide:

The operative word there is MAY as in “the following information MAY be displayed”.
