I’ve just come to appreciate how rare cylinders are are for my motor. AirPower has almost 900 of them presold and they’re only getting a couple a month from Lycoming. I can’t find any overhauled cylinders at places I’ve called.

Does anybody have, or know of any cylinders that have been overhauled or are good candidates for overhaul? If so, I’m buying.

Have you considered Continental Prime for Lycoming cylinders?

I’m not familiar with them but will take a look.

Yeah you can get them from continental.  They aren’t lycoming cylinders, but tgey are continental prime cylinders for the lyc io-360.  Please let us know how the wait time is for those.  @N201MKTurbo uses them.

I see they are back ordered at AirPower but may be shorter time.

I spoke to Carlus and he referred me to Seth at Performance Aircraft Power in Berryville, Arkansas. He can get me a couple OH’d jugs in 3-4 weeks, so I’ll be going that direction for the non-serviceable jugs. My other two are serviceable and will be OH’d by J&J in Pleasanton, Texas.

I have four first run Lycoming cylinders that I pulled off when I did my overhaul. They were working great when I pulled them. They are very rebuildable.

I didn't rebuild them, because I could buy new Continental cylinders for about the same money.

If interested we can talk. I have no idea what they are worth.

N201MKTurbo, I would be very interested in purchasing one of your 360 angle valve cylinders. I would like to keep it as a spare for when I need it. If RoundTwo does not take them, I would like the option to buy one. Thank you

I have a set of cylinders from my IO-360C1E6 that should be inexpensive to have overhauled. I needed a top overhaul and found a set yellow tagged and overhauled for a very reasonable price so I did not do my old ones. I have four with shipping boxes that include valves. The valves are probably all good but you would want them inspected and lapped. I remember that the cylinders are chrome but I should check. I had an A&P set the timing incorrectly not knowing my experimental airplane's engine had 10.5: pistons and that damaged the pistons, detonation I believe. The cylinders show slight vertical scoring but you cannot feel the scores. The cylinders are standard bore and measure within new limits with the proper taper as close as I could measure with an inside micrometer.

If you still need cylinders, email me and I will give you my phone # so we could talk.
