Echo Posted May 22 Report Posted May 22 (edited) I had an EDM830 installed in my plane. I retained the Garwin cluster. Will a JPI bayonet probe work on the analog Garwin Cylinder temp or do I need to use the original probe? Edited May 22 by Echo Quote
Yetti Posted May 22 Report Posted May 22 This is for CHT? Probably will work. There really are just K Thermocouples and J thermocouple with the difference being the heat range. I used the stock moony oil temp with my Dynon EMS Quote

Echo Posted May 29 Author Report Posted May 29 There was an EI primary single indicator with a toggle for selection between EGT and CHT so the oem cylinder temp probe was tied up in the cowl. The probe registered some temp on the gauge. After the EDM830 install my primary cylinder temp is on 0 peg Would reversing the wires cause this? Is this gauge for sure compatible with the Garwin analog indicator? Quote
Echo Posted May 31 Author Report Posted May 31 I called OEM on the 830 and the tech on the line said there probes are often NOT compatible with older OEM analog gauges. NOT happy with the installer cutting the wires using my "extra" new probe and NOT testing for function before giving back to me. Sheesh. Now I have to hope he didn't throw the old probe away. Quote
